In Short
Owner Sonny Tillman has been serving the same Southern barbecue and fixings since 1968. A common roadside stop, Sonny's offers low prices and barbecue; roomy booths, wagon-wheel chandeliers and homey craft art are the standard dining room decor. House barbecue sauce, available sweet, regular or hot, spices up large helpings of smoked beef, pork, chicken, turkey and ribs. Sides like fresh fried okra, onion rings and barbecue beans complement the entrees.

Just Okay.
With the exception of the beef (which is always dry and tasteless to me), the barbecue is all right. The baked beans are EXCELLENT. Portions are large and you definitely get your money's worth.
The service has been average. We've had some great servers and we've had some not-so-great ones. But I must admit that when the service was lacking or there was a snafu in the kitchen, the management made up for it by comping our dinner.
Be prepared to wait during prime dinner hours on Friday and Saturday nights.
