Don't Go To Bubbalou's. Bubbalou's advertised a 16-18 lb. whole smoked turkey which we bought for Thanksgiving. When we got home we weighed the bird in at a bit under 10lbs. When I called the manager he said the advertised weight was "raw weight" and they lose some weight when cooked. He agreed that a 40% weight loss is not right but he said he can't do anything to help since he's already sold more orders than he can fill anyway. I now have to go out and buy another turkey to feed the family coming over for the holiday. This is a ripoff and indicative of the type of business that Bubbalou's represents so be warned and stay away from Bubbalou's.
Best Darn Bar-B-Que. If long lines and a wait indicates whether your in for some darn good barbeque, then Bubbalou's is the place. It's small with limited seating but it has the best pulled pork you'll ever eat. It's best to stay away between noon and 1 PM as the lines and wait will test your patience. However, after that and into the evening head on over by yourself or bring the family and sit down to a barbeque treat. Newbie's test the sauces and believe it when they say the nuclear is just that nuclear! The price is excellent and the hickory smoke permiates for blocks and draws you in. If you want awesome barbeque at a great price, make your way over to Bubbalou's.
Best pulled pork in Florida!. Best pulled pork, best baked beans, great baby backs. Delicious sauces, but beware the nuclear! Clean, casual, great service. Quick except from noon to 1 pm, when the line to get in gets a bit long. Don't know about evening crowd. Excellent for larger take out for parties.
Open-pit, home cooking from the first family of BBQ..
In Short
The smell of hickory smoke--its tangy scent as dense as the humid Florida air--reaches diners from blocks away. They also cater to parties as large as 400 and can do buffets or fancy, sit-down plate service. Try the pork platter or one of the sandwiches--tender and juicy with just the right amount of smoky flavor. If barbecue isn't your bag, opt for another Southern specialty like Brunswick stew. Novices should sample the mild sauce before deciding on the appropriate wattage.
