Yellow Dog is not your typical restaurant... It has its own character and charm. They have indoor seating, as well as an outdoor patio with tables, chairs, and beautiful trees to provide shade. They have some of the best BBQ I've ever had, great sandwiches and salads, etc.. I haven't had anything on the menu that wasn't fantastic. Its my favorite place to eat with friends and to take out of town guests. You can't go wrong with this place!
Great place for constipation sufferers!!!!!

I stopped going to the yellow dog because every time I ate there it was a challenge to get home before I literally exploded and painted the toilet several hues of brown, tan, yellow, orange...well you get the picture.
- Pros: If you are constipated the food here will fix it quick!!!
- Cons: Abdominal cramping, severe diarrhea, bathroom cleanup
Great sandwiches but, beware if it is a full moon

I had the retriever’s roast. The meat in it is roast beef. I usually don’t like lunch meat roast beef because it always has this preservative taste to it. Their roast beef didn’t have this taste and was excellent like freshly cooked roast beef. Their sandwiches are also thick with the ingredients barely being able to stay inside. The ingredients they use are the high quality kind. The sandwiches came with a bag of crunchy chips and a small side of coleslaw. I didn’t care for the coleslaw because it didn’t have the sweeter taste that most coleslaw has. It has a dry taste to it.
Their sandwiches are excellent and I would return. However, some people might be liked to be warned that this is a hippie place. All of the employees are covered in tattoos. All of the chairs and tables have graffiti all over them and the place is cluttered in junk that covers the walls. However, they do maintain the place well by keeping it clean. One of the employees had on shorts that were too small and when she bent over it was very obvious that she was not wearing underwear. If you can still maintain your appetite after this then you will find that this is a unique in a good way place to venture out to and try.
The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 is because there was a full moon during my visit.
- Pros: Great sandwiches
- Cons: Not fancy
FANTASTIC CASUAL FOOD NEAR UNIVERSAL NOT A TOURIST TRAP
by RESTAURANT LOVER at Citysearch
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW ! this place run by a chef named Fish, and a culinary inst of america grad is the best . The pulled pork sandwich topped with cole slaw and bacon and blue cheese ...the fat Elvis...is the best in the world ! Or try turkey with raspberry melba and sweet pepper rings in a whole wheat wrap. The cole slaw is full of raspberries, nuts, and zing. Great. In a old country tin roof store that was in middle of orange groves for past one hundred years..you heard me...now next to celebrity sports figures, it is so beautiful in the garden full of buttterflies. If you can only go to one non tourist place this is it. Everyone loves Fish..he stops to make everyone feel at home and talk food. He is the best. .......but so is the food. Best local food raved about repeatedly by the local and national critics.
- Pros: LOCALS LOVE THIS PLACE ...BEST BAR B Q AND SALMON
- Cons: NOT A SINGLE THING
