Major Disappointment.
My wife and I recently had a dinner at Matthew's Steakhouse. I ordered their "so called' 220z Melbourne porterhouse steak. The steak that was served to me was less than a 1/4 inch thick and
couldn't have weighed more than 12oz. The meat was tough to chew and of poor quality compared to steaks I have had at other restaurants that specialize in their steaks. To charge $39 dollars for that steak is a sin and they should be ashamed and embarrassed for such a misrepresentation. The salad was less than average. The service was good and the ambience was very nice.
However, I would not ever return or recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Very disappointing!!!…
Mouth watering steaks!!!. Matthew's is by far my favorite steakhouse in Orlando. I always get the filet and it is perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection.. not to mention it also melts in your mouth. Another great thing is that they have German beers on tap and I'm not talking just Heineken.. The whole layout and decor of the restaurant brings me right back to my trip in Germany which is refreshing considering it's hard to find a non-corporate restaurant in Orlando. I love this place and will continue to make the 45 minute drive and spend the extra cash on the most delicious dinner of all!…
Waste of time and a bigger waste of money!!!!. This place was a complete waste of time and money. All the reviews on here saying the place is great was clearly written by the owners or the staff. We went here thinking the place would be great just from the review. It was terrible!!! The service was OK, The food was very pricey for what you receive. Everyone in my party ordered the Rib-eye 14.oz . The steak was very thin and very oily . To be honest it reminds me of the steak you would get late night at Denny's. The salad they served was all iceberg lettuce and jar dressing, the blue cheese dressing was out of maybe a Publix dressing jar with a couple crumbles of cheese on it. I say Publix due to it being located next door. The food was very bland and the warm bread was actually Publix Italian sandwich bread . We asked what the Vegi of the day was and the server said they were fresh green beans fried with German season's and bacon. They were CANNED GREEN BEANS WITH SALT. And the German fried potatoes are just fried baked potatoes with no seasoning . All the meals cost about $24-$30 each Not worth $10 each. Plus to top it off on the dinner plate they put chopped up iceberg lettuce with a canned pineapple slice on it! Remember they say its German !!! pine apple is not German. This place is a disgrace! pleas save your money and go some where else. and they keep the a/c at about 78 degrees in there . very warm.…
Fantastic service and wood fire grilled meals.
Matthew and his family (all from Germany), have created a little piece of Germany right here in Windermere. Do not let the exterior steer you away with the slightly dated exterior located next to
Publix, but wait to pass judgement till you get inside. Having been to Germany many times, I can attest that you feel like you are in a very romantic, quaint, and intimate German bistro once inside. The smell from the wood fire grill welcomes you in, and there are many German beers on tap with the requisite boots to drink them in if so desired (careful on that last gulp...there's a trick to it;o)
Our favorites are the Filet Mignon and Pork Tenderloin. Service is great as this is a family run business, and they realize there is a lot of competition for your hard earned dollars these days.
We have tried all the big name steak restaurants, and while good, a lot of times are very loud. If you would like a romantic dinner where you can actually hear your date, this is the place for you!…
Steaks that never disappoint. Having eaten in many great steak places in the country and abroad, I can say that this is one place that has some of the best steak you will find anyhere. I live close and make sure that I take all my out of town visitors there and none have left disappointed. This is saying a lot considering the virtually endless dining options available in the Orlando area. You may wonder how good a place can be in a strip mall next to Publix, but take a peek inside and give it a shot. The place is run by a German family who takes what they do seriously and the service is perfect. The meats are cooked to perfection over an open flame grill which you can see from where the tables are. You can also get German beer on tap as well as German desserts. I have tried most of the steak cuts, the chicken, and the pork chops and have nevery had a bad plate.…
