The Scene
The rustic decor, with thickly ornate chandeliers, heavy wooden chairs, and exposed brick walls, are a nice counterpoint to the delicately nuanced dishes created by chef Bart Hosmer with Mediterranean flair.
The Food
For an appetizer, opt for the soup of the day or try the shaved prosciutto with crenshaw melon and lime mint sauce. A delicious blend of sweet and salty topped with a light vinaigrette sets the tone for the rest of the meal. Cost-conscious travelers with discriminating tastes will appreciate the lunch offerings, such as a crusty baguette packed with chunks of salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, and olives. Grilled salmon, served on thick slabs of focaccia bread, has a tangy mustard glaze. All this is offered at about the same price as the mass-produced burgers and chicken sandwiches you can get inside the parks.
For Dinner
Try a selection of tapas for everyone in your party to share. Everything on the menu is consistently good, but of special mention are the plump, oak-roasted clams and mussels, crispy calamari with olive-pepperoncini vinaigrette, and seared scallops with chervil pesto.
For the Kiddies
Kids can split one of the handcrafted pizzas cooked to crispy perfection in a wood-burning oven. Toppings run from the typical pepperoni to the more exotic rock shrimp. Spoodles also offers both a cold and hot breakfast buffet, an ideal beginning to a day at the parks.
The Service
The waitstaff exhibits an impressive command of the menu and a willingness to answer even the most basic questions. And Spoodles seems to handle large groups with easeקbeing a Disney property has at least one advantage.
