Center Stage This multi-level venue has plenty of space to roam about, even during the most crowded shows. The room focuses on the mammoth stage that is elevated just enough so that it can been seen from just about any angle. However, since the main bar located at the back of the facility is usually the only one open, be prepared for a long wait. Musical Cross-section Since the capacity is upwards of 1500, the House of Blues is a popular stop for a huge cross-section of national talent. Shows over the past few years have included The Cramps, Link Wray, De La Soul and Duran Duran. Also,…
Awful Staff and Customer Service, Horrible Security
by Joay
The House of Blues in Orlando was the worst venue I've ever experienced in all of about 30 shows I've seen in my life. I've been to two shows at this venue (Britney Spears, and most recently The Used), and though the bands and artists rocked the house, the AWFUL staff ruined the entire experience by lying and deceiving fans. At one point, in the pit, I busted my lip bleeding everywhere, the rude security through me into a locked room after pulling me out from the pit (I had no part in a fight, it was an accident by a rude concert-goer's elbow). Then dragging me to a corner, shone a flighlight into my mouth and declaring "it's not that bad", and told me to wait upstairs, while carrying towels of blood. Then after every Used concert I've heard about they do an open meet and greet with fans. The band themselves Twittered about letting fans bring cameras an welcomed them to. The venue's policies however, stopped the hospitality by confiscating everything from cameras to sharpie markers. The band was obviously upset, and it shone in their performance. The venue made money off of the fact you had to PAY for this particular meet and greet and only granted 35 passes to it. This was not the band's policy. It was the venue trying to make a quick buck.
I will never return to this venue, after being treated so poorly and spoken to in such a condescending way.
- Pros: Small venue, decor
- Cons: rude staff, security, policies
HOB awful customer service
by hobsucks
I was treated so horrible by the HOB ticket office. They are so rude and offensive. I have never seen a more unproffessional disply in my life. I was yelled at and ridiculued by both the employee and the manager while I was inquiring about tickets. I have many shows there but this has put a very bad taste in my mouth about this venue, don't deal with the box office unless you want to be ridiculed for asking a question and yelled at. Go somewhere where they know how to treat customers and run a business.
- Pros: Ambience and small venue
- Cons: Horrible staff in the box office
Crazy Policies!!!

I just heard about a concert coming to HOB and wanted to take my toddler because he loves the band (Ralph's World). I of course assumed that he would need at ticket at 2 years old. When I went to by the tickets the lady informed me that I would need a ticket for my other child who is ONLY 4 WEEKS OLD. I asked why and she said it was because they need a count of everyone in the building. Therefore, my 4 week old son would need a ticket at the same price as every other person in the building even though he won't have a clue what is going on. We have been to another concert for children recently and they printed out a ticket for the baby, but there was no cost, it was simply for head count. HOB is using the head count excuse as a way to make more money. I will not be attending this event or any other event there.
