Downtown Disney - expensive with poor service. My family were on vaction and we visited the Disney Marketplace's Rainforest Cafe. This is not our first time at the RFC so we knew generally what to expect. The wait was not too long (20-30 minutes) considering it was a Sunday lunch hour. The food was more expensive than I had previously remembered. I ordered a half rack of ribs that came with some french fries and a bit of cole slaw and it cost $22. The ribs were average in taste (nothing special). My son ordered 2 of the chicken tenders with french fries appitiezers ($9 each) because he loves chicken tenders but I was told that it only consists of about 3 chicken tenders. I was pleasantly surprised that it comes with more when it arrived but now we have more food than we really want. My daughter did not like her chowder as it was too salty. My wife was fine with her meal of steak and shrimp ($27). The food took about 30 minutes to get served from the initial order. The refills on drinks were very slow to come even at the very end. The server did not come by once to check on us after the meal was served. I go out to eat often with the family and while the quality and taste of food are important, I generally expect a level of service to match the price of food. I was very disappointed in the meal and more so with the service. Overall, I like the RFC concept for families. I like the the decor for the kids and the tropical fish tanks with a retail store next door so we can browse merchandise while waiting. We filled out a comment card with several of these comments and the general managers did not seem very concern. He offered only priority seating for the next time we come. I don't think we'll be back to this particular restaurant. Our tip definately reflected on the level of service that we received, as it should.

Expensive, Horrible Food, Poor Service. Our wait was over an hour. The store was good. I would suggest just going to the store. We found a great deal on a kids t-shirt. The restaurant service was poor. My $17 salad was so bad I didn't even finish it. My husband ordered chicken breast and there was only about 1 oz of meat...for about $19. Everyone near us (and I mean near us...the tables are so close you can't pass through to the restroom) ordered the chocolate volcano looking cake. It took the whole wait staff to present it each time which slowed down all other service. The decor was tacky and dusty looking and even my 5 year old didn't enjoy it. I will never go back again.

Stroller policy at Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. After we waited nearly two hours to get into the Rainforest Cafe, the hostess rudely stated that "No strollers were allowed" When we asked what we were to do with it, she quickly and angerly pointed outside. Against our better judgement we placed our stroller out by numerous other strollers. We made sure that we grab all of our belongings and gifts we just purchased during our long wait, and brought them inside with us. After our meal which was EXTREMELY expensive we gathered up our things and headed outside to discover that some one had STOLEN our $200 stroller. We spoke with the manager of the RFC and he basically did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. My husband then asked/demanded that we at least get our money back from our meal due to their stroller policy. The manager said he couldn't and gave us the old pass the buck to his corp. office in Houston. The security guard for Downtown Disney was more than accomidating to us when we informed her on what just happened. Though she was not able to refund our money she did give us an umbrella stroller to finish out our vacation with. It was a small consolation however it did not come from the RAINFOREST CAFE. The did literally nothing to help or accomidate us in anyway. I really think if its store policy that no strollers enter.....they need to make it like a coat check. The outcome is still pending and we will see if this HUGE company will make it right by the little people, even McDonalds will slide you a value meal if they screw up. Boycott pending, corp. office contact.

Never again!. We visited this weekend for my twins 11th birthday. They were so excited to eat here, but we all left really disappointed. I agree with another comment that the food seemed to be "Costco" food, because that was exactly what I was thinking. I ordered the pasta with italian sausage. The meal was $19 dollars for penne pasta and about 6 small pieces of sausage... it was also cold, so I sent it back. Nothing special about it at all!!

Kids meals cost about 12 dollars. They do not include a drink, and charge EXTRA for french fries... even when you order a burger..... WTF? They also do this for adult meals, My son ordered a 15 dollar cheeseburger, and had to pay 1.99 extra for french fries.

Personally, I would check out the cool decorations, but seriously, save your money and go somewhere else to eat. I would think that for $130.00 bill, I would be totally "wowed" by the food, or that they would at least put just a little effort into it, but no. Seriously disappointed! And the bathroom was filthy... I did not want to sit down!

Oh, and it is true.... they add the grautity in, so be prepared. 18 percent!

Horrible Weekend Visit 10/27/09. Waited for 1 Hour 10 Minutes. Food was terrible. Looked like prepackaged food from Costco. Service was awful as well and I overheard the manager pointing out to some employees as he made fun of a customer at a table. I wouldn't go back if they gave out free food and drinks. Expensive, tacky and we had asked them to clean up the filthy bathroom at the beginning of the meal and when we went back at the end it was still disgusting. I felt like I should have told someone outside waiting to RUN. Don't waste your $$$
