Editorial Review for Pirate's Cove – by Eyal Goldshmid
The Scene
One of three Pirate's Cove mini-golf courses in Orlando. You play through two imaginative courses: Captain Kidd's Challenge and the more difficult Blackbeard's Challenge, both of which guide you to the top of a mountain, the establishment's centerpiece. Much pirate decor, from hidden treasures to wrecked ships and then some, surrounds you.
Above Par
These are tricky, enjoyable courses, inventively crafted and filled with numerous obstacles, particularly the final holes. The landscaping and set design are equally impressive, primarily the large drawbridge built across the front of the the main mountain--its view of I-Drive is worth the price of admission.
Below Par
Too much debris (fallen foliage, sand, etc.) covers the greens and often hinders play. Also, the holes inside the caves tend to be waterlogged.
Favorite Holes
The latter holes, atop the mountain, have long slopes and tricky angles--loads of fun, and very challenging.

Insider Tips
When to GoIt's central I-Drive location makes it constantly crowded. Still, the earlier in the day you hit it, the better your chances of avoiding congestion.
Difficulty Level (0-5 scale)3.5: Lots of long slopes, obstacles and interaction with water, some of it very tricky but always fun regardless.
