Editorial Review for Memories of India – by Sylvia Whitman

The Scene
Subtly Indian, thanks to instrumental music and a few wooden inlays with scenes of rural life. Service is speedy and correct. Even the busboy wears a tie.

The Food
A wide-ranging sampling from across the subcontinent, from Goan fish curry to tandoori chicken tikka, cooked in a clay oven. Lamb lovers and vegetarians each have more than a dozen choices. If you have company, start with nawabi lukmi or the slightly less filling bread combo (make sure to include onion kulcha). Among the veggie specialties, the delicately spiced palak paneer surpasses any other take on creamed spinach. Lamb biryani has a bolder taste, and like all the rice specialties, it includes a side of raita (yogurt with tomatoes and cucumber). Billed as Indian ice cream, pistachio kulfi makes a light, cooling dessert, but be prepared for its dense texture and slight sourness.

This is the best Indian food I have found in the Orlando area. It ranks up there with Kohinoor. Friendly staff, good selection, great prices. You can eat lunch there including bread and dessert for $8.00 and leave feeling full. The Sunday lunch buffet is amazing. Check it out.

Pros: Great food at a great price

Cons: It's a hidden gem. It is rather small and you could probably not bring a party bigger than 8, but that's part of its charm.

Memories of India is definately the best Indian restaraunt in the Greater Orlando area. The food is always superb. The service is impeccable. I find myself craving their Mutter Paneer quite often. Go there for their Sunday Brunch for an all you can eat buffet. The menu for the brunch changes weekly. I cannot say one negative word about this restaraunt - and I have been there several times.

Pros: food, service, cleanliness
