Founded in the south in the 1980s, this chain is based on the idea of offering good food and drive-through convenience. Hamburger options include a basic single-patty burger and the two-patty Big Buford. There menu also features chili dogs, chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, batter-dipped spicy fries and shakes. The red-and-white restaurants are known for having two drive-through windows and no interior seating. However, many locations offer walk-up windows and outside seating at picnic-style tables.

Love this place!. Checkers is by far my fave fast food joint, and many of my friends agree. I especially love their fries and their chicken, whether on a sandwich or in strips, is so yummy. I have yet to try their milkshakes, but I hear that they are pretty amazing. Also, another good thing about Checker's is that they have two drive-thrus, so you are never left waiting too long and the food is always hot and fresh!!

Go for the fries. The rest of the food is typical fast food hamburgers, but the fries are the absolute best fast food fries in town.
