28.452933 -81.317657 View WebsiteI worked at Payless as a rental agent for 6 months . Pam Lowe is the manager and her only goal is to get your money . We never did any refunds no matter how right the customers were or how irate they got.She wanted us to force insurance, upgrades, add additional driver fees and dont disclose them or make gas mandatory. The Owner of the franchise is a very greedy man who lets PAM do what she wants as long as she gets the money coming in . Pam Lowe husband left her and ever since she only has two friends and a few dogs that she worships. Her home address is 3543 Country Lakes Dr Belle Isle, FL 32812-3530 if you would like to mail her directly since they throw customer letters in the trash at payless. Pam basically hates men and is always treat them worse. This is due to the fact she doesnt think any man would ever take her in. The company also uses the property behind their property for park and drive purposes. They don't even own that property and the owner of it doesn't even know it is being used illegally. They regularly spill diesel while refilling the passenger service buses . As an employee I tried to talk to the owner about all the illegal things Pam was doing but the owners secretary made it clear that I cant make an appointment with the owner without Pam consent. Pam swindles her employees as well as her customers. If anyone quits she withholds their paychecks. Its a horrible place to work .. She never gives her employees weekends off since she works weekends.Truly a ruthless woman...

10%, then choose another % off to stack on the savings. I used Specials which gave us an additional 15% off. Find out if your car insurance covers your rental, if so, just carry a copy of your policy or number. Per our car insurance company you do need the LDW as rental car dealers charge for loss of rental if the car is in an accident, which the LDW covers. I found that our Visa card had it's own policy as long as you rented the vehicle with the credit card. I carried a copy of the policy with me. Also, you can modify your reservation within 24 hours of rental. I checked daily and when the rate went lower, I modified. We ended up paying 344.00 total for 9 days, during Spring Break 2013. I liked that this location is off airport for two reasons. The first, MCO traffic is terrible and on our return flight I didn't want to deal with it. Second, I thought maybe everyone chooses the airport rental cars so these will be more kept. In our case, I was correct.
We reserved a van, didn't upgrade, or have any other add ons, and left with a Dodge Caravan that was less than a year old, if that.
We did get receipts whenever we paid our cash tolls as a preventative. Would recommend that you take your own gps from home or buy one at Walmart for 104.00. Either way, it's worth it.
We received the van with a full tank of gas so we filled it upon return ourselves less than a mile from the agency instead of paying their convenience charges.
I think that if you reserve the correct size vehicle, read up on everything to know and expect, you can't go wrong. Yes, they put a hold on your credit card,..but can you blame them? You're driving off their lot with a 20,000+ vehicle. A small fee when you look at the big picture.
We also noted any scratches or marks on the vehicle on their sheet before leaving.
Also, since this is a shuttle, just plan enough time for them to walk around and check the vehicle, give you your return receipt, and then drive you to the airport.
The security check at the airport took more than an hour to get through and forget it if you didn't preprint your booking passes or have checked baggage...that was time consuming. The rental was better than expected.
Get What You Pay For
We arrived to pick up our car and they presented us with a smaller car than reserved. Offered to allow us to upgrade and after waiting 30 min we succumbed to them- paying for a larger vehicle they DID have on the lot (which when we first arrived they denied having). We got into the vehicle and it was filthy..... what looked like ashes all over the dash, floor rugs upside down. We went in to at least let them know and the guys said, "Just pretend you are in the military." What?
So unimpressed with the service, the vehicle and the cleanliness. But we decided that they did offer a great low price and therefore I guess you get a filthy car with that. Don't expect a clean car with this one..
By far the worst experience of our week
in our family trip to Disneyworld. Had reservations for two vehicles, one economy and one SUV. We were exhausted from the trip getting there, then had to
board a shuttle because they were not located at the airport. Agents browbeat us to upgrade both cars which we resisted for awhile, and then stupidly gave in. Then the biggest scam of all, that being the insurance. They used the two premises of loss of revenue if your car is out of service for them if you were involved in an accident, and also the value of the vehicle after being repaired. They scare you into believing you might get hit for thousands of dollars. Even though we had rented two cars, we ended up paying almost double what our reservation amount was quoted. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. Life is too short to deal with scam artists when you are trying to enjoy a once in a lifetime vacation with your family.
DO NOT RENT HERE!! They will bait and switch you if you book a compact car. They will park a tiny 2 door car that has manual windows for you to rent. And God forbid you want to upgrade, they will charge you an arm and a leg. They will use scare tactics for you to get the insurance. They will say your car insurance does not cover loss of use incase the vehicle is stolen. apparently Thats an additional $3000 plus coming from your pockets. Rent anywhere but here.
Horrible service, dirty cars, unexplained fees. We thought we'd be saving money by renting from this company, which is not the case! We were made to buy their insurance (or put a $350 hold on our card) even though our own personal insurance covers rental cars. Then they gave us the keys and didn't even tell us where the car was even parked. After finding the car it was dirty and smelled bad, obviously had not been cleaned in a while. Also the guy who checked us out treated us poorly and was very rude. I wouldn't tell anyone to use this place!!! I wish I could give it zero stars!
No Problems, Smooth Car Rental.
I was very nervous after booking thru Travelocity that this car rental place was terrrible. I read all the horrible reviews after I booked it. The other companies online were literally double the price of Payless.
We got in Orlando about 11:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night, and the shuttle was waiting (did not have to call). There were several other families on the shuttle.
I dealt with a very friendly guy named Johan, and he explained everything thoroughly to me. I chose to upgrade for an additional $9 per day. He gave me the updated price on my receipt.
I had contacted my own insurance agent prior to leaving MN, and she assured me I was covered fully for car rentals. Johan explained the only thing they could come after me for was loss of service (if the vehicle was in an accident). He explained many people choose to not take this additional insurance, but you do initial on the document understanding the risks.
They do put that "hold" on your credit card if you opt to not take the extra third party insurance. This was not a problem, and I just double checked my credit card statement. The price they gave me was the price charged to my credit card. No additional charges.
Returning the car was very quick, just be sure to come back with the full tank of fuel if you left with one. They had a shuttle waiting to take us right back to the airport.
Flawless experience. We are very pleased.
WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE! DO NOT RENT!. I didn't want to rate it, because they are worst than 1 star. They get you in to their shop with their supposedly low prices, then they try to suck all the money they can out of you. They will push with no limit for you to get the insurance, which will cost more per day than the rental. If you don't get it, they will explain basically that you will get into a car accident and they will take that money from your credit card. They will scare you. And if you still don't, they put a hold on your credit card for a RIDICULOUS amount. The cars are horrible and smell like cigarettes. They will not help you out if you request another care, they will charge you for an upgrade even if they do have cars on the same level available. They will not pro-rate the payment by hour if you do return it before the day the original rental was done. Again... horrible, horrible experience. I never will use them again and you shouldn't either.
HORRIBLE- DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. DO NOT RENT HERE- BUYER BEWARE! Horrible experience with this company and wish I would have checked these boards prior to using them. They are complete SCAM ARTISTS. Booked the reservation online at Expedia, was quoted just under $85 and given a reservation number. When we got to the counter they had us sign something completely different. When asked if we wanted to "upgrade" our insurance package we said "no" because we didnt want any insurance at all. Well they took it upon themselves to charge us an additional $17/per day for their collision insurance. We were going on a cruise so the car was going to be at the port the entire time pretty much so why would we waste our money on this. When we returned we recieved a bill for A LOT more than $80. We left and got on the trolley and called them once we had a chance to go over the bill. The manager, PAM, called us back who is completely clueless. We had to explain the same thing to her multiple times and she would not get the concept that once you book a reservation it should stay the same as what you had booked. She kept going off on tangents and telling us to email her personal account with anything we were going to write about the company. All she kept doing was repeating the dates that we rented the car and saying she "reviewed the video tape." HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We even told her we would fax her the quote we got from Expedia and she said she would fax us back with her own quote. UMMMM ...that does not even make sense, we already know about all the extras you charged us, why do we want to see it again. To make it even worse, we parked our car at a Payless rental facility in Philadelphia who lost the keys to my car! When we got there they had to give us a rental and I still do not have my own car, but atleast the manager at this facility was competent, unlike the manager Pam at the Orlando facility. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, I wish someone would have warned me before. Do not be fooled by the prices quoted to you online, they will trick and scam you for a lot more.
NEVER AGAIN. car wouldnt start the next morning i had it. I called customer service they told me to take the car to autozone, i told them it was not my car and they should take care of it. I can't even make a long story short, however. CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!!!! That was my first and LAST time i would rent from these people.
