HORRIBLE- DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS

DO NOT RENT HERE- BUYER BEWARE! Horrible experience with this company and wish I would have checked these boards prior to using them. They are complete SCAM ARTISTS. Booked the reservation online at Expedia, was quoted just under $85 and given a reservation number. When we got to the counter they had us sign something completely different. When asked if we wanted to "upgrade" our insurance package we said "no" because we didnt want any insurance at all. Well they took it upon themselves to charge us an additional $17/per day for their collision insurance. We were going on a cruise so the car was going to be at the port the entire time pretty much so why would we waste our money on this. When we returned we recieved a bill for A LOT more than $80. We left and got on the trolley and called them once we had a chance to go over the bill. The manager, PAM, called us back who is completely clueless. We had to explain the same thing to her multiple times and she would not get the concept that once you book a reservation it should stay the same as what you had booked. She kept going off on tangents and telling us to email her personal account with anything we were going to write about the company. All she kept doing was repeating the dates that we rented the car and saying she "reviewed the video tape." HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We even told her we would fax her the quote we got from Expedia and she said she would fax us back with her own quote. UMMMM ...that does not even make sense, we already know about all the extras you charged us, why do we want to see it again. To make it even worse, we parked our car at a Payless rental facility in Philadelphia who lost the keys to my car! When we got there they had to give us a rental and I still do not have my own car, but atleast the manager at this facility was competent, unlike the manager Pam at the Orlando facility. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, I wish someone would have warned me before. Do not be fooled by the prices quoted to you online, they will trick and scam you for a lot more.

NEVER AGAIN

car wouldnt start the next morning i had it. I called customer service they told me to take the car to autozone, i told them it was not my car and they should take care of it. I can't even make a long story short, however. CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!!!! That was my first and LAST time i would rent from these people.

DON"T RENT AT PAYLESS

This place is a scam, They had low online rates but we went to pick up the car they refused to let us decline the added insurance charges. I see my the website we are not the only ones. I called customer service to voice a complaint and they never returned my call. I am telling everyone I know DO NOT rent from Payless at any location in the country.

These guys are scumbags

Obviously you would go to a rental company called payless that isn't on-site at the airport because, well, they cost less. I assume not being on-site would help for them to keep overhead costs down, but could still function as a normal rental agency. WRONG.

From square one these guys try to intimidate you into getting insurance coverage, basically leading the customer to believe that if anything happens to the car, you are going to be charged the full amount of the car's worth, and on top of that, be charged any losses incurred because the car is out of service. This is nonsense.

When you get the car, it WILL NOT be the car that you were promised. Reserved a midsized? Well here is a ford focus. Asked for a minivan? Heres a PT Cruiser. It honestly looked like they just went towards the back and grabbed into a pool of keyrings and gave you what came out the other end.

Biggest Reccommendation: Use the camera you brought with you on vacation to take pictures of the vehicle from every angle before it leaves the lot. They dont go over the existing scratches/dings with you the way other groups do. That way, when you come to return the car, they can't throw some nonsense at you. I had a very small seal open on the bumper of my car (was that way upon receipt earlier). The first thing the guy did was come over and look at the car, ensinuate there were several dents, and then made it to the bumper. He looked at it, grabbed it, and then proceeded to rip it out, making it drastically worse than it had been before. He then said that he had to get his manager to take a look. She looked, gave me some guff, but said it wouldn't be charged. The next 10 minutes were spent listening to the cheeseburger payless counter-jockey tell me about the magical wonders of buying their coverage and how you never know, blah blah blah. And then the guy who first rented me the car came by to say "I told you to get the coverage, man."

Thanks there, chet, I'll bee sure to get coverage the next time I'm never coming within 15 miles of your deathtrap of a car fental place.

Front to back this place is full of scumbags. And the worst part is that they force a mood of agression and worry on what is probably the final day of your vacation.

Go suck a lemon you human paraquats.

poor customer service/no desired car available

reserved intermediate car, listed as Toyota Corola; when arrived to pick it up on Monday am there was only Nissan Cube and PT Cruiser...I needed a car with a trunk to keep off valuable items....when asked a rep to give me compact one I was told he cannot do it....I could not negotiate downsizing ...car was piece of junk - also the rep tried to sell me bunch of unnecessary coverages....as I did use many other companies this one is rated as very POOR
