i was obsessed with this place before i moved to chicago, and i still haven't found a place up here to match it. everything is so flavorful and the fish is always so fresh. the servers and the chefs are all so friendly and i've always had great service. every once in a while the food might come out a little slow, but relax, get a glass of wine and enjoy your dinner, its not a race. every person i've brought to this place or recommended it to has loved it and has gone back without me numerous times. my suggestions - sit at the bar, you get your food a little faster. try the emperor roll and the graduation roll - amaaazing.
Pros: great food, good prices
Cons: small parking lot

My fiance & I are avid sushi eaters. We're from the Bay Area, CA, where there are lots of japanese restaurants within a small radius. We make it a point that when we travel to a different state or major city, we try a good japanese restaurant. After reading the reviews online, we decided to check this place out. Walking in we noticed the place was tiny. They tried to make it seem bigger by having the walls on either side of the place covered in mirrors. There was a TV that played a photo slideshow of their mediocre looking sushi. None of the photos made either of us say "oh, that looks good let's try that". Although we went on a Monday night, aside from the 2 sushi "chefs" & 3 waiters, there were only 5 other guests dining & 1 person waiting for their to-go order (that was waiting for at least 20 minutes). There wasn't a vast amount of sushi choices on the menu. We ended up ordering the Emperor's roll, sashimi combination, and Crunchy spicy tuna roll. We received miso soup that came with the sashimi combo. The soup tasted nothing better than plain old chicken broth (unflavorful). The sushi took about 15 minutes to come out (mind you that the other 5 guests were already eating or about to finish). The wasabi was weak (no kick at all). The tako (octopus) sashimi looked like it was sliced with a butter knife (had jagged slice lines). The sushi rolls tasted "generic"; seemed as if they were created just to look good instead of tasting good first. Basically, all show, no go(od). All that food & drink for just under $60. I have no issues with spending a good amount of money on great food. This restaurant falls significantly below standard. The one bright side (if you can even count this as a good thing), is that my fiance received a free refill on her soda. In all seriousness...do not waste your time, fuel, energy, money, or appetite on this place. You are better off dining @ Benihana...at least you'll get a cheezy show with your sub-standard food.
Pros: Free soda refill
Cons: Quality & quantity of food, slow service, corny/distasteful ambience
