Orlando >Delta Transmission
These guys are scammers. My mom and I came here because her car was shifting funny. They told us to fix it would cost over $1000 and that anywhere else we went to would charge us more. Then some weeks later she took her car to a local used car center because her neighbor has a son that works in the shop there. He told her that delta was trying to rip her off and he fixed it for under $300. What the hell kind of shop tries to rip off a 70-year-old woman on a fixed income!
since i first brought my ''92 subaru
svx to delta for transmission work ten years ago, pete has maintained the car for me entirely, and now that i live in bradenton, i still have the car flat-bedded to delta if there's a problem. pete and his guys have always been fair and accurate, and they have saved me thousands by fixing only things which needed care.
they've never tried to make extra work done or a bad repair.
Go somewhere else.
Brought my car in because transmission wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear and needed a diagnosis. I filled out the paperwork and then sat and had lighthearted conversation with Peter in his office while we waited for his tech to check out my car; Peter was very personable. Tech comes in office about 15 min. later and shakes his head. Peter says my transmission needs a rebuild and, " Depending on what we find when we get in there, if it is the soft parts that are damaged it will run $1100 if it is hard parts it will run $1300." ( don't know what soft parts/hard parts are but that is what was said and I took him at his word). I told him that I didn't have that much money and that I would have to think about my options; I left the shop. A few hours later Peter unexpectedly called me at the phone number I had written down on the paperwork and told me he had spoken to the owner ( I thought he was the owner ) and that he had an unbelievable offer for me-- the owner said they would do my transmission for only $1000 under the condition I brought it back in no later than the following day (now I am suspicious). I told Peter that I had to check my financial situation and I will get back to him. Towed my car to the dealership because I trust them despite the high service costs-- turns out it wasn't the transmission at all; it was the throttle position sensor that needed replacing-- $208+tax. My car has been shifting properly ever since I got it fixed.
My advice is this; always get at least a second opinion and see if your friends/co-workers know someone honest you can take your car to. Good luck and take care.
Expert Service, Understanding People. I recently worked with Delta Transmission to understand the problem with my Mercedes ML320. These guys were spot on and were very helpful in handling my car while I was out of town. They provided me with a detailed understanding of the problem and the associated costs and did not pressure me with anything. I can only hope more car maintenance vendors live up to the quality service that Delta Transmission provided me. I'll be recommending them to my friends.
