royal food, terrible service.. We went to Royal Thai because we had a hankering for some pad thai and param. When we arrived, it had just opened for dinner. The waitress was a little less than enthusiastic and rushing our order. It just felt like she had no interest in us being there. We thanked her and said please, we were polite from beginning to end. When the check came and we asked for separate checks she rolled her eyes. As a previous employee of the food industry, i have to say i was EXTREMELY unimpressed with the service. If i had to go there again, i would probably call ahead for take out. In fact, i think we will just try take out.

very good. It's hard to write a review about royal thai because they don't have the best tasting food

or the quality or flavor some other places have, but what they do have is really good fast thai food

that is decent for what you pay for, so overall it is a good place to go. They aren't fast food but

almost seem like 'thai fast food' and will say that their dishes lack a certain authentic flavor

that some other thai restaurants have as well as meats seeming as if they are not of the highest

quality. But if you're craving thai food and want a good place to go to, this definitely is it. Their soups

and dishes are good, and their service is also really good, and they are generally very nice

and their restaurant is always filled with people so you can tell that it is a popular place. I wouldn't

say it's the best thai food in Orlando but it's a really good thai spot to go to if you want decent

thai food at a decent price with good service. The restaurant decor is also cozy and a nice spot

to go to dine at. Overall, it is almost always a good dining experience there and you won't be

disappointed. If you are hoping for really exotic gourmet thai cuisine, this isn't the place for that

but your palate will still be pleased and you will probably return for more...

Don't miss Orlando, but sure miss Royal Thai. We moved from Orlando to the West Coast a few years ago and haven't had Thai food as good as Royal Thai since. We used to live near Lee road and there were 3 Thai places really close, and we ate at all of them, but would always drive across town to get Royal Thai. The TOM YUM IS THE BEST!! Haven't had as good before or since. We have eaten at dozens of thai restaurants across the US and the tom yum is never close to being as good as Royal Thai. I really am not sure what could have caused the couple of bad reviews for this place.

The red curry is outstanding. The whole fried snapper (lemon or red curry) is great, fried crispy and delicious. We have lived in California, Washington and now we live in Portland Oregon (where there are so many thai restaurants that you don't know which one to pick) and I would really like to eat some Tom Yum from Royal Thai right now after just having another mediocre meal at another thai place. If you haven't eaten here I don't want to get your expectations too high because invariably you may be disappointed, but it is our favorite, hands down. John and his family are very nice and welcoming and they make great food. It was always very fresh when we ate there. We are mostly vegetarian so I will say best vegetarian thai although I wholeheartedly recommend the whole snapper if you have someone to share it with, or go for the red curry. It is great. And if I haven't already said it too many times, get the tom yum! Drunken Noodles also get an honorable mention.

Best Thai Food in Town, great for lunch. Always a great choice for lunch whether or not you're on your break from work or have plenty of time on the weekend. Service is excellent, speedy, but not rushed. The food is always great and affordable.

Food is nasty. I've been to this place a total of about five times over the past few years--mainly only because it's one of the few Thai places that is open on a Sunday. And everytime my boyfriend and I go we ask ourselves why we went back and swear to never go again. Seriously, the food is bad. I mean, it's bland and the ingredients are not of the best quality. The tom kha gai is watered down which makes me think CHEAP. I'd rather pay a little bit more for better quality food. The combination fried rice, which is one of my favorite dishes at all Thai places, is just bland. This time I got the pad thai and was sour and a sticky lump. And let me just say one last thing...we eat a lot of Thai food...so I feel like we know the difference between good and bad thai food by now.

For the Frozen Food Lover. I understand that this is Orlando, where pallets might be lacking flavor and Wing House is a 5 star place but anyone who has ever enjoyed real "American" style Thai food would never reccommend Royal Thai.

Both the Pad Thai noodles and Pad See Wee noodles are packaged and not homemade, and their abundance of frozen vegatables and meats make this place compeletely unappetizing.

Pad Thai Noodles are thin and small, not long like spaghetti, where as the flat Pad See Wee noodles are flat and square, not flat and long.

DISGUSTING ATMOSOPHERE, FROZEN FOOD, BAD SERVICE

If you are white trash you will love this place, but if you like to dine on quality food you will need to look else where.

My Favorite Thai Spot. I have been to Royal Thai a few times and have recommended it to friends. I have introduced people to it who, until then, were really unsure about trying Thai food or had had previous bad experiences. This last time, we ordered Wonton Soup, Thai style, which was beautiful to look at and tasty; Chicken Satay with a wonderful peanut sauce; Cashew Nut entree with Chicken which is - by far - the best Thai entree I have ever had; Spicy Fried Rice - and when they say spicy, that is exactly what they mean, but it was excellent; and Pad Thai with Chicken, also great. The only regret was that we all ordered chicken. In previous trips I have tried the yellow curry, which I also enjoyed. Most of the entrees come with regular sticky rice, but it can be changed to Jasmine rice for a fee. Don't forget to add the cucumber salad either!

Never again.... Always heard how great the food--finally went. After ordering, I saw a tiny insect crawl out of the spice rack....never again....!!

Great service, bad food. We ordered the Noodle soup with pork and it had no flavor at all. Spring rolls were good but greasy. Chicken & Shrimp pad tai had no flavor at all and was very dry. Portions were large. Staff was very freindly. Seafood delight had a funky fish smell to it. Tofu dish with cocunut milk was the only highlight of the meal. It was the only dish that was full of flavor.
