The manner in which Varan displays his wines is unlike most wine shops. Rather than grouping them by area of origin, they're first grouped by grape variety, then by country or region. Tim's is one of the few wine retailers in the U.S. to actually conduct wine classes--not just "tasting events."

The Goods
Hundreds of fine wines and bubbly are offered from a number of countries. Wines are divided into three categories: Features are wines bought in large quantities and carry small price tags; core items are wines bought one case at a time from growers with their own label; and reserve selections for the serious collector. Artisanal cheeses stock the cheese shop, and a variety of wine accessories like Reidel stemware, decanters and corkscrews are also available.
