Little Shop Extended through Nov 2nd- DON'T MISS IT!!.
I have never written a theatre review - but I understand Elizabeth Maupin turned this show down and refused to see it. Somebody has to tell Orlando that some GREAT theatre is out there!
I just got home from seeing Gramercy Theatre's production of Little Shop of Horrors - and I have to tell everyone! It is amazing! (It is at the Plaza Theatre in the same venue that Menopause the Musical ran in for 2 seasons) I have never been so surprised and thrilled, and I've certainly never done this before.
I have seen a lot of professional theatre over the last 35 years and this is the real deal. The set is incredible - the costumes - the actors - the music, it's all fantastic! Among the best Orlando has to offer! And it's just a great "fun" musical!
For any of you that qualify, student rush tickets are half price next Thursday - walk up ticket sales only.
Go if you can!!!
Encounter a classic Orlando landmark that has survived the times and continues to entertain audiences..
In Short
Once upon a time, it was known as the Rocking Chair Theater--the chairs actually rocked while moviegoers watched flicks on the big screen. The Rocky Horror Picture Show also called the theater its home during midnight showings on Friday and Saturday nights. As time went by the theater opened and closed many times in the past 10 years. The theater currently has a new owner that's showcasing art exhibits, plays, musicals and live entertainment for Orlando to enjoy.
