great ambiance, friendly staff, great services. First of all, J. bauman salon and spa is not a tanning salon,(reffering to the comment below). The buliding USED to be The Hot Spot . It has takin new owner ship and has transformed into a beautiful salon with a mini day spa in the rear. I have been going there for a few months now and love it. Christie, the manager, always happily greets me and even calls me by name now. The entire staff is warm and friendly, not like a lot of downtown salons which can be very stuck up. They have an adorable back area for pedicures , facials and massages. Jon give the most unbelivable massages and Amanda is one skilled esthetician. I had an organic seaweed facial and my skin never looked so good! The pedi station fits 2 and is totally private. Ask for Amy..she is sweet and gives great massages! This place is fairly new but i have a feeling they will be here to stay!

Great color. I just had the greatest color, highlite and cut done with Mark at J Bauman Salon. I had been getting highlites at salons for years here in orlando and just needed a change. Mark suggested that with my deeper skin tone I should try going back to my natural with golden highlites. I put my trust in him and was not dissapointed. My hair looks so healty! and full of life! I had no idea how washed out I had looked. I loved my color so much that I let him take a few iches off my usually super long hair. I feel like a whole new girl! I'm a lifer with Mark! He is wonderful!

Unprofessional in Every Way!!!!!. I am new to town and was looking for a place to tan, I have always used the "chain" Salons like Hollywood Tans etc but thought I would give this place a try...I will NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!.. This Salon has about six tanning rooms, the one I used had old bulbs, the CD/Radio did not work, I was not offered safety goggles and the fan was a regular table fan.

When I was leaving, there was someone cutting hair which explains why there was someone elses hair all over the floor of the tanning room I used. Also, as I was leaving I asked a couple of questions about the products and the girl at the front new NOTHING about them...

I will not go back

It's MORE then tanning.... A Hot Spot is more then a great tanning salon. It also features an amazing hair studio with excellent stylists at truly fair prices. It is a very hip and cool atmosphere, a place where you can get tanned, trimmed, colored and even your eyebrows waxed! This is one of the BEST salons in downtown Orlando, you have to try it!

a great salon. i absolutely must leave a review for a hot spot! a friend of mine recommended it for tanning and it was the best! the girl at the desk was sooo helpful and friendly, i have fair skin and was afraid i'd burn in a bed. her advice kept me from getting too much and i got great color from the bed. the salon is clean and has a really cool decor. i'm going back and getting my hair done next!
