Editorial Review for Marble Slab Creamery – by Beth Lee

In Short
Greeted by the freshly baked smell of waffle cones, visitors to Marble Slab Creamery are treated to an experience from years past. Here, ice cream cones are still molded by hand with the help of waffle irons and each store makes its own ice cream fresh--no factory shipped boxes of pre-made ice cream. Flavors range from vanilla to birthday cake. Other dessert alternatives are offered including frozen yogurt, milk shakes, smoothies, and sundaes.

It is the best ice cream I have ever had in my entire life!!! Other generic places such as Cold Stone just don't cut it. Cold Stone's ice cream is so chalky and grainy tasting (probably because they use powdered milk and hot water to make it) while Marble Slab has a creamy texture (real cream and milk just can't be surpassed in flavor) with phenomenal flavors like Birthday Cake, Coconut, Banana (that actually tastes like bananas), and so many others. Not only is their ice cream amazing, their service is great. Well, I've only ever been to the one on East Colonial in the Colonial Plaza and let me tell you, they are so courteous and kind. It's nice to see that these days with customer service at other places being substandard, they still treat their customers with care. So I give Marble Slab Creamery 5 stars!!!!

Pros: Lots of parking with many places to shop around it. There's even a tanning salong and nail place on either side of their store.

I'd been to the one in Gainesville, which was very nice. When they opened this one, I took my now-husband there to check it out. The building was ridiculously hot (it was October). The employees stood around chewing gum and not being helpful. My husband's ice cream tasted like cleaning fluid. I'd rather go to the grocery and pick up a pint of something else.
