This "boutique" hotel's modernist twist and killer Thornton Park location make it a weekender's dream..
Restored Beauty
After the completion of a 1999 restoration, this 1920s-era hotel reopened in the trendy downtown neighborhood of Thornton Park. The 21 rooms have been tastefully decorated with a modernist slant and feature "smart" capabilities; easy online access and teleconferencing options are available. This boutique inn includes such amenities as a rooftop terrace with a spa, lakeside views and a continental breakfast.
In the Thick of It
Downtown Orlando's business and entertainment district is just a short five-minute walk and the grounds are located directly across from Lake Eola Park (where views of our city's growing skyline are maximized). Thornton Park itself is teeming with upscale shops, bars and restaurants that are literally right around the corner from the hotel. Panera Bread, a national bakery/cafe chain, is adjacent to the inn and caters the morning breakfast.
History 101
Since the building opened in 1923, a variety of organizations have graced its walls, including a hotel, clinic, college of music, YMCA and a youth hostel.
