Editorial Review for Tabu Night Club – by Citysearch Staff
The Scene
Located on Orange Avenue in the center of downtown, Tabu attempts to repent for its previous life as the uber-cheesy Zuma Beach Club and restore some of the glory to this former location of the historic Beacham Theatre. A beach theme is somewhat still in effect, but the renovation makes creative use of the venue's expansive interior--there's a main floor and a fairly large upstairs lounge--with a stylized art deco-meets-Egypt concept throughout.
The Draw
Weeknights mainly spotlight mainstream house-dance and hip-hop, while weekends feature underground DJ talent. Special events include national superstar DJs, live bands and celebrity appearances. Hungry guests can order from the sushi menu, smokers can pull out cigars, and drinkers take delight in an extensive champagne, beer, martini, Scotch and fine-wine selection (with bottle service). Separate VIP areas for the beautiful people. The Bonkerz Comedy Club is also located here.

This is the only club I go to on Fridays. Ladies get in free all night and it's easily 2 to 1 girls over guys. Drinks prices were good and they had 2 4 1 shots almost all night. The upstairs is 21 and over and you can get a bottle of Kettle one for $115.00...that's crazy cheap! If you like good hip hop music and a nice crowd check Tabu on Fridays but dress nice they have a stick dress code.
Pros: Everything
Cons: nothing
