Editorial Review for Hoop's Tavern – by Eyal Goldshmid
The Scene
Dark, dirty and roomy, with much attention given to the dart board areas (the bar sponsors a team in city tournaments) and pool tables. Plus a backyard patio that lets you escape the craziness indoors.
The Food
Standard beer-hall fare, including the usual run of hoagies, mostly featuring unique variations of ham and cheese sandwiches and some decent Chicago-style hot dogs. The beer specials--cheap and served in big glasses--often attract big crowds.
The Crowd
A strange assortment of Downtowners out for a change of pace, sports fanatics, regulars and homeless people. The latter usually hit patrons up for a drink or two, which can make some uncomfortable.

Great place to grab a drink and sandwhich before or after the Magioc game or any other arena events. Limited menu, but the sandwhiches are cheap and very good. Great drink specials, especially on beer.
