Best Japanese place in the Orlando area! Fo sho!. I lived in Japan many years ago and I haven't found a place to match any of the restaurants in Japan until now. The food was fantastic and the service was great. This place is top notch!!! The owner came to my table and made sure that my meal was satisfactory. I will recommend this place to all of my friends who visit Orlando. The owner is pretty cute as well. Try it!
don't eat here unless you like crunchy critters in your food. All around bad experience. The service was slow and forgetful, below average food and I saw a critter running across the sushi bar . Does not seem like a clean place.
Love Ichiban!. Having poor service at Ichiban is a rarity. I dine here for lunch quite often and the servers seem to do all they can to make sure I enjoy my experience. The lunch menu is also very reasonable in price. At dinner, the low lights and trendy music give the restaurant a wonderful atmosphere. The sushi is excellent and the desserts are a must!!
Very slow weekday lunch service + mediocre food = Amura is a much better choice. Not the place to go if you are on a weekday lunch break. Food takes far too long to make it to the table and the service is haphazard. Two visits ago, my dining companion and I were comp'ed our entire lunch (without us having to ask) because after waiting about 35 minutes for our food, the maitre D' came to our table to tell us our food order was lost and asked if we would please reorder. We were compliant and overly understanding. These things happen sometimes. Today at lunch, my dining companion's sushi order took more than 30 minutes to make it to the table and my bento box was served without the advertised california roll "because the sushi chef was backed up". There was one sushi chef on during a weekeday lunch. Almost an hour later and once we were finished with the rest of our lunch, we asked for the bill and was told the california roll was almost ready. We declined the server's offer to "take it to go". The food is not as good as Amura, and it is priced similarly. Unfortunately, we will not return to Ichiban.
exquisite.
although known for the sushi
must say the entre is just as tasteful
I am always treated like a family member whenever I dined there.
they are helpful on recommendation on the menu
ambience is soothing
look forward to my trips to Orlando to dine at Ichiban!
Japanese delicacies served with flair by a seasoned cast of restaurant professionals..
The Scene
Outside, the large restaurant dominates the brick-face building just off Orange Avenue. Inside traditional surroundings offer a cozy alternative to the downtown hustle and bustle. But opt for a table rather than the traditional stools, and you'll have a much more comfortable meal.
The Food
The restaurant will surely sate your sushi craving, with large portions at moderate prices. For a thorough experience, don't miss the sushi platter, an enormous collection fresh seafood and vegetables served with a variety of sauces, ranging from spicy to mild. Chicken, seafood, pork and beef dishes are available with rice, but the lightly battered tempura shrimp, fish and vegetables are the best non-sushi items. For a real treat to the eyes, order the tuna rose sashimi--a sort of raw tuna martini, served appropriately in its own cocktail glass.
for you out-of-towners.... i have lived a lot of places, mostly san francisco & NYC. those places are meccas for awesome sushi. moving to orlando i was convinced i wouldnt find anything like 'em...but i think i have. ichiban is pretty darn close. the slightly funky atmosphere like SF or NYC, inventive sushi, and good sized servigs of fish(very important). if you are an out-of-towner too or lived here forever but, love quality sushi...you gotta hit it!
Yummers. This is probably the best Sushi I've had outside of New York City.
much to be desired. I used to go to Ichiban all of the time for lunch and dinner. In the past it was very enjoyable. Unfortunatley, in the last year or so it has really taken a turn for the worse. The last time a group of friends and I went in, we had to wait almost an hour. The whole time we waited there were empty tables that had not been cleaned and set for us. The service is absolutely terrible and the food has lost its creative edge. And the mood is never consistent. Because of that my friends and I always choose to go somewhere else.
Great food.. I'm not much for sushi but the Lobster Rolll was great. I enjoyed the kitchen food much more, the gyoza and shrimp tenpura were more to my liking. My guest absolutely loved the ginger dressing.
