The Scene – Harvey's is a fine place for business associates or friends you want to impress with both your good taste and good sense. Service can get harried on busy evenings before Magic basketball games or events at nearby Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. – – The Food – The refreshing onion soup is charged with ale and smoked Gouda. Tantalize your taste buds with the roasted escargot, swimming in a lemon-garlic butter sauce. New England pot roast comes out of the oven simmered in its own juices and served with a medley of vegetables. Seafood lovers should try the…

Harvey's would not have been around as long as it has, if it wasn't good! You go Rocky! You are Harvey's! And Lisa my favorite Bartender... it's always great to see you! Lou!
A Blast at Harvey's
by mindymae
I was at harvey's for a bacherlorette party and I had a blast. The service was great, the food was great and I recommend it to anyone. Overall the atmosophere was fun and relaxed, while still dining in an upscale restaurant. We all split appetizers at our table (escargot, calamari, spinach dip, thumbits) and everything was great. We did have rocky (we requested him) and he did come out in a couple different outfits while serving us. Yes he is gay, and I am pretty sure there are a couple other gay men at harvey's but that wasn't a problem for my party. It didn't seem to be a problem for any of the other guests in the restaurant either. From what I have read in the other comments, I guess some people are not comfortable with their own sexuality to have to get so defensive and rude about pointing out that they are straight (downtowncop). Don't flatter yourself and lighten up.
Anyway, I have always had a great time at harvey's and I will continue to dine at harvey's. I will invite friends, family and even strangers. I am 25 and the top 40 type music fit "My generation" just fine and even when they played swing or jazz, it seemed to fit me too. It is unfortunate that people in the world are never happy. So GO TO HARVEY'S BISTRO and please readers, don't let a few negative people ruin what is a great place to dine, sit with friends and enjoy a night out, and if you are lucky to find yourself at harvey's on a night that rocky is there, be prepared to have a Blast!
- Pros: Great Food, Nice Dining Location, Relaxed Atmosphere
- Cons: No valet, Only validates up to two hours for garage
Response to Gregy6

Well, in response to the comment by Gregy6. I would like to add that it was not just one of the four people that had a horrible experience. I am the girlfriend of the gentlemen that wrote the review of our experience with the "broke back mountain" want to be. I can honestly say that at least 3 of the 4 people at our table were highly offended and shocked by the "performance". Harvey's Bistro has the potential to be an amazing dining experience. A few things I would change would be to have the wait staff attend a course on professionalism. Also, a shot of expresso may have helped to wake up our waiter.
I will say the escargot was the best we've had. It's ashame the entire dinner wasn't as good. The trout was dry and over cooked. I could have overlooked the dinner not being as good as expected if the service had been better.
My boyfriend and I will not be returning as there are many other dining options in town. It was obvious that the staff was not going out of there way to be sure we had a pleasurable dining experience. They were more concerned with entertaining one another.
To anyone else who gives Harvey's an opportunity I wish you the best of luck. Might I recommend the Venetian Room at the Caribe Royale Resort in Lake Buena Vista? It is a 5 star restarant and so worth the drive to 535. Dexter's Winter Park or Lake Mary would also be a better choice expecially on a night you can enjoy the music from "My Generation".
- Pros: Best Escargot
- Cons: Staff not friendly
