Editorial Review for Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden – by Eyal Goldshmid
Grand Estate
Polasek, one of the 20th century's most important sculptors, spent the last 15 years of his life in this turn-of-the-century mansion. The estate comprises an enormous house and studio and even larger garden area, and properly depicts the success of his career. It also permits you a glimpse into the lifestyle of Orlando's turn-of-the-century upper class.
Home Sweet Home
Inside, the mansion houses many spacious rooms and broad windows. Decorations consist of several pieces of artwork from the Polasek collection, with highlights being a majestic mural from the Ruebens school and a 17th century Flemish tapestry, "The Kindness of Rebecca."
Garden of Eden
The front and back garden features landscaping of Edenic beauty, with a long, winding path guiding you past several bronze sculptures. Make a point to absorb the many picturesque views of Lake Osceola along the way.
