Sub-Par Quality, High Price.
Leave this one alone. Good service, but I for one want quality food, and they just don't serve it. Their Italian food is decent, but their steaks are horrible. And their prices are simply too high. You pay for their prime location in the heart of Mount Dora, not the quality of their food.
I will say, though, the service was excellent.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN ALL OF MOUNT DORA, ESPECIALLY THE BURGERS!, BEST SERVICE, BEST PRICE IN TOWN.
Before I became a full-time student at the University of Florida in Gainesville, I used to be a regular customer at the Palm Tree Grille in Mount Dora, Florida for four straight years! This is exactly why I'm taking the time to write an awesome comment about the quality of food and service youll receive if stopping by to make a visit in Mount Dora.
First of all, I need to clear up any confusion you may have if you've read the comment about the burgers, and especially the service that was received; in the 4 years of eating burgers at the Palm Tree, I never had a single one that was anything less than perfectly sized, perfectly tasting, and perfectly priced. In addition to the burger, you'll receive some of the best fries Ive ever tasted (as a fourth year college student, you can trust me on this). I'm sure there are other sides besides fries, but I was simply addicted and couldnt change.
Now, about the service:
I've known the owners of Palm Tree Grille (MarySue and her husband Arc) for 4 years also. I've met every waiter, waitress, busser, and nearly every employee to ever set foot in the place, and all have been outstanding. Impossible? No... If there's bad service and the owners know it, somebody will lose a job that day! That's simply what it takes to be this damn good.
In addition to burgers, I've tried many other entrees on the menu...Chicken Florentine, Steaks, Chicken Bachi Bachi (?spelling?), and also many entrees from the "Specials" menu, which changes frequently, unlike most restaurants I've ever been to (hence, the name "S-P-E-C-I-A-L-S")...many restaurants seems to think "specials" are everyday items for some reason.
All in all, if you're planning on visiting Mount Dora, stop by the Palm Tree Grille and tell them Stan Flink sent you as soon as you sit down. I'm not afraid to give my name, because the Palm Tree Grille's hard work, and your satisfaction after leaving will only make me look better!
MOST IMPORTANT REVIEW YOU'LL READ TODAY.
The meat was spoiled.
My friend and I visited the Palm Tree Grill on Sept. 1, 2006. We ordered two CheeseBurgers- one meduim well and the other Medium done. As we bit into it...we both smelled a foul odor coming from the cheeseburger and discovered that the meat was SPOILED. We informed the waitress...she seemed annoyed and a manager never came out. It was the most horrible, disgusting dinning experience I had in my life.
I was sick to my stomach immediately and still had to pay $2.70 for our Ice tea. What a terrible place, spoiled food and horrible customer services. Please print this so that other know the truth and don't just print great reviews. What's the point of writing honest reviews. I reported them to the fLORIDA Dept. Of Health- Hotel and Restaurant Division.
Good Food, Great Service.
I had the best lunch ever here. The eggplant rollatini that was on special the last time I dined here is to die for. The waitresses were very friendly and gave me a few tips on where to go in town for bargains.
Not the cheapest place to eat but it's worth the extra $$.
Best Veal dishes ANYWHERE!. I have driven from Gulfport Beach just to have dinner there - have sent friends who also have returned many times.....once I stayed over to have lunch and dinner there again! 'Lick the plate good'
