WORST REPAIR PLACE EVER!!!. Our warrenty co uses them for services. In December they were sent to repair a humming noise. The service tech stated that the dryer needed a new motor. They would order it and call when it came in. It took a month for the new part to come in. When it did they sent a tech that was incompetent. He took the entire dryer apart to put in the new part then when tried to get it back together he couldn't. He called the main office for help and yet still could not get it put back together. The service tech later stated that he was just finished with school and had never had to do this before. The office had told him they would have to schedule another tech with experience to come out 4 days later and put the dryer back together. I would have to wait 4 days for them to fix their mistake! I explained to them that I could not be home until after 3 for this they said that would be fine. Tuesday arrived (without a dryer for 4 days) they decided that they were running early and arrived at 1:00. When I explained to them we agreed for 3:00. They stated that gas was to expensive and they were not going to come out. I would have to reschedule to their convenience. I said that was unacceptable as they have left a dryer in pieces in my house. The secretary started to yell at me that it was my fault I could not be there at one even though the appointment was for three. I asked to speak to a manager and she replied no. That was not going to happen. I said I can wait until she is off the phone she said no. She replied to me that I can do what I want but she would not let me speak to the manager, Michelle. She said in the end I would have to meet their needs and their time frame! WHAT!! They left my dryer in pieces yet I have to meet their needs. Worst customer service ever. Yet we agreed to a time and they are the ones who are incompetent yet I have to meet their needs.

If it were possible to give a lower score, I would.. This is my final edit to this review.

Our troubles started when the spin cycle stopped working on our 900.00 front loading HE washer. I called the warranty company and they directed me to L&R.

I phoned L&R and within 48 hours a tech was dispatched. The tech that was dispatched came out and told us A. that wer had wasted money buying this forgeign piece of crap B. that it was an electronic control module they would have to order. This was Dec 31. 2009

At the end of January they finally called me to instlal the part. I requested them not to send the same scuzy tech to do the job and they informed me that they had parted ways with him.

Margie showed up with the part. Only, it didn't fix the issue. Margie then called several people to try and find out what may be the issue. They finally settled on it being a door lock mechanism.

The next day a third tech came out and installed the door lock and the washer ran great. A few days later the same issue cropped back up - machine shutting down at the spin cycle.

Again, I call them, and this time they tell me it will be a week and they are wondering if they will need to order the part again. I suggest that someone come out and find out WHY the issue keeps returning...you know...FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME mentality. They agree and tell me the tech will be there between 9-12.

At 12 I finally had to leave and go to work, the tech finally showed up at 3:30 that afternoon. She took the back off the machine revelaing some tray that no one ever (even the originating dealer) told us about. She informs my wife (as my WIFE is cleaning the damned thing out) that this visit won't be covered and we may get a bill.

The bill comes literally 24 hours later. Wow, when they want their money they move with the speed of light. Anyway - I call in to speak with their owner today and the lady on the phone persisted toi try and resolve my issue. Mor ethan likely to keep their practices from getting to their owner. That or he is fully aware and just doesn't care.

The lady was having computer problems pulling up my file, or so she said. A go on hold a moment and am greeted by the charming voice of Melissa. Notice my sarcasm there? Melissa then persists to argue the point with me.

My point being that if THEY HAD PROPERLY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE FROM THE OUTSET THIS ENTIRE MONTH AND A HALF LONG FIASCO WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. I WOULD HAVE NOT HAD TO SPEND OVER $300.00 AT A LAUNDROMAT AND WOULD NOT BE CHANGING THIS REVIEW NOW.

When I asked her to please just have the owner call me, she persists to belittle my concerns and start berating me about my review. I told her that I woudl post it to facebook and had the power to reach 9 million people with the click of a button.

She continued to patronize me and tell me how sad my life must be if I had time to write a review and send it to that many people. How stupd is she to tell someone this? How arrogant AND naive can a person relaly be in this day and age to make these kind of accusations to a CUSTOMER.

When I asked her if she realized the day and age we lived in and how what she was choosing to say and do was going to effect their business she laughed at me and said that out of the on average 20 people a day they see and have seen for as long as they've been in business that the "five little reviews on some little webstie aren't going to effect anything. I'll have our owner call you and he'll tell you the same thing I did."

What Melissa fails to realize is that , like myself, people don't choose to do business with L&R, it's just who our warranty company says we HAVE to use.

I will never ever deal with this company again and I will make it my mission to see to it that EVERYONE in Central Florida knows about their practices.

And Melissa, it will all be on you.

The worst customer service you'll ever experience!. I don't know how this company is staying in business! They write up for parts they don't truly replace and submit them under your warranty plan. Also, when they need to order a part for your machine it takes MONTHS for them to get it in. They'll tell you the part is on backorder when that is not the case as I confirmed this information with the actual distributor. The staff is rude, unprofessional and the worst you’ll ever deal with, specifically the office manager, Melissa. I suggest searching for another company before you consider counting on L&R Home Appliance Repair. I encourage other consumers to post their complaints so we can work together to put this company out of business. This company is only out for themselves and does not care about their customer's needs. I wonder if the owners (Robert or Simon Milton) of this company have any idea how poorly their staff handles issues or maybe the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Avoid L&R appliance. I have an LG washing machine that stopped working. The parts were under warranty but the labor was not. I spoke to a respresentative that told me that said it would cost $75 for them to come and an additional $29 an hour. I called around and was told that it was a job that would take less than an hour. So the total should have been $104 (75+29). They charged me twice and said that since they had to come back with the part it was an $84 flat fee rate. The technician had me sign the invoice before starting work.

When I called the office the owner stated that it didn't matter to him what I was told. The transaction was done and completed.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. I PAID THEM FOR CRAPPY WORK THAT HAD TO BE FIXED AGAIN. AFTER CALLING LG AND MAKING A COMPLAINT - THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM ANYMORE TO SERVICE THIER APPLIANCES. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.

L & R is great. I've read the reviews here and I'm appalled, my experience with this company was totally different. I Made an appointment and they came to my home right away, SAME DAY SERVICE. I was told an all day window, but was asked if I would like a call 1st I agreed. The company called when they were on the way to the home and I was there waiting. They fixed my refrigerator right then and there. The customer service was great, then technician was awesome. I would recommend this company 100%.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!. Our appliance warranty company uses this company for repairs. We have been waiting 6 weeks for a part that they said would take 3-14 business days to fix our washing machine. They finally come to fix it and they said that yes the motor was bad; but, now the washing machine will wash and not spin... That was the original problem! They fixed nothing- and now we must wait for another part! I have contacted L & R hoping to get things moving quicker, not only were they unapologetic, they were extremely (-extremely-) rude with both myself and my husband. Their repair persons and their managers are incompetent and lack basic customer service skills. I hope you heed my warning and NEVER use this company!

Avoid this company at all cost or it may actually cost you!!!. My experience with L & R has been nothing short of a nightmare. This is the most incompetent repair company I have ever dealt w/ in my life. They deserve no stars, but I had to put one. Today is Fri. Sept 28, 2007, I placed my original call on July 26, 2007 for refrigeration repair and it is still not completely fixed. They finally got it cooling three days ago, one day short of two months, thats how long I've been w/out a properly working fridge. They have been to my home 9 times, today will be 10 to try and get the ice maker working, which I believe they broke. They have poor customer relations: After 2 months and 9 visits they had the audacity to ask why I was getting bent out of shape. What kind of business is run in this manner? They should have been at my house the minute I needed a problem after 2 weeks, much less 2 months. If you have American Home Shield (AHS) warranty company specifically ask to avoid L & R. I have had no help from the office in a proper manner and to top it off the technician told me it may break again in a month or 2. They actually burnt a new part while trying to install it and had to order another one, and if not for calling AHS they said it would be 3-14 days, after already waiting a month. They have no concept of making the customer happy. It feels like they have just tried drive me crazy and provide no help, but to come to my home again & again. Update: They just came for the 10 time and confirmed my thoughts that during repair, at some point, they somehow broke my ice maker as well. Any problem you can think of has occurred and they act as if its a normal part of the business. I believe they just have know idea on what in the world is going on. I warn everyone to AVOID this company at all cost. All that needs to be said is, 3 technicians came out during a 2 month span, 10 times to fix my fridge and now my ice maker is not working. Save time, money, and stress by calling another company!!! Sears is on the way to my house!!!

Poor customer service. Poor customer service doesn't begin to describe it.

The only reason they have one star is because it won't let me give them zero. Originally called for service on May 22 (today is July 16) and still haven't received service. I missed the single call at 3:30 and by 3:39 I was calling them back. I was told it was too late and the tech had moved on. When I asked to speak to a supervisor- I was thold the person on the line was "the owner". She was extremely rude and even when I explained to her how long I had been waiting- it didn't seem to matter. Considering this is the "service" company referred by a major home improvement store- you might think they actually would want to provide good customer service.

Poor Customer Service and Phone Skills. I had service scheduled with this abnoxious company via my extended warranty service. L and R was suppose to call before coming out, never did. Then when the guy shows up he isn't even wearing any kind of uniform or shirt saying L & R and his truck doesn't even have the company name on it. After he rang my door bell I looked out to see who was there and he was pressed up against my door listening. Weirdo. I went out via my garage to see who he was and he said he was there to repair my refrig. I asked if I could see some kind of i.d showing that he is from the company he said he is from and he refused and turned and walked away and said to get another company to service my appliance. When you are a woman and you are alone in your home, you cannot be to safe today. This person could have turned out to be a fake. No one knows. But when you request i.d. from a service company, they need to show it. And then when I called the main office to complain, they don't care about the customer, a supervisor told me to get service somewhere else. I guess they are so important and outstanding that they don't need the business.
