Really disappointing!. We were super excited to find an Indian buffet close to a place we visit frequently in Altamonte. Unfortunately we couldn't have been more disappointed by the food. First the good. The mint chutney was seriously the best I've ever had in my entire life, and the rice was acceptable. My husband kind of liked the cabbage curry. The buffet was clearly labeled, neat, and clean. Also, nothing was greasy at all, a rarity for Indian food. That's it for the good. They yellow dal was mushy and had a horrible taste to it, the mixed vegetable curry was really bland and made with the frozen bagged mixed vegetables that have lima beans in them, and the chana masala tasted rancid to me. The tamarind chutney and rice pudding were both watery and weak. The raita was creamy and light, but had so much stuff in it that it tasted like veggie cream cheese, NOT a neutral condiment used for cooling a dish's heat level without altering its flavor. We were surprised that there wasn't a single dish on the buffet with paneer in it, and we really missed it. The service was acceptable but confused, and the decor is exactly what you'd expect at an Indian restaurant: flashy, tacky renovated 80's diner with damaged walls. The biggest surprise was the naan. It was terrible; burned on the outside and barely cooked in the middle. Honestly, no matter how bad the food, I've never seen an Indian place screw up the naan. Still shaking my head.

Mushy Meal. New to FL and lover of Indian cuisine. This restaurant is close to hotel and decided to try a to go meal. Their chicken tikka masala was mushy and over cooked. The tomato based sauce was thick and had a slightly burned taste. Diner beware...if FL Indian food taste like this, I am going to stop eating it. The basmati rice was flavorful.

Good food and service. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our meals. The service was great and quick. I just moved to the area and was happy to find a good restaurant nearby. I will definitely be back for more!!

great place. We love this place. Great food, great service, what else is there to say. I recently moved from england where Indian food is a huge part of our culture and I am glad that I can get my fix now that I live in Orlando!

This family Indian restaurant, named for a diamond, sometimes shimmers.. The Scene
Sequins on wall hangings and mats under glass add sparkle to white walls and red carpet and tablecloths. This split-level restaurant has a private party room upstairs.

The Food
Chef/owner Reis Fernandes offers more than 40 entrees: rice dishes, tandoori (clay oven) meats, shrimp and lobster specialties (served with soup), and many vegetarian selections. His hometown recipes include Goan lamb xacuti and Bombay aloo, potatoes in a cumin-tomato sauce. Order the pakora appetizer: chicken, veggies, or cheese coated with chickpea flour before frying. Prefer a lighter, milder start? Try the yellow lentil soup. Chicken tikka masala sets the tenderest nuggets swimming in a tomato-based sauce; make sure to order one of the breads and raita (yogurt salad) on the side.

Authentic Indian Food. My husband and I accidently found Kohinoor. We were looking for a better than average restaurant (TGIF, etc...). We are now frequent visitors. Kohinoor not only has a wonderful menu; it is romantic and the service is great. If you are looking for something special and authentic than Kohinoor is the place!
