not what it used 2b.... *They used to grind and pattie the meat fresh daily when it first opened back in mid 93', not long after the owner's wife sherry finally worked off all the original employee's who were worth a damn except for 1 that doesnt touch food cooking back in mid 94' , shortly after....that stopped.

And yes, the bugers and chicken although all attempts are that they are cooked in "smaller batches" some of the time, "they do sit in a in a pan", and "are flipped in the juices at the bottom of the pan for flavor and extra heat"! *The note about never pre-making anything that the owner's wife Sherry speaks of...that's merely putting the patty on the bun w/the lettuce and such, but yes, it sit's in a pan. This place is nothing like it was originally-nothing at all!!

** Last time I was there recently, The assistant Manager,( who thinks he is Drew Macentire JR from the wwe), had to walk through piles and piles of trash to get to the registar and take my order & his I'm a tuff guy attitude with the way he walk's around like he is Mr Marine drill sargent ,( Hence only 1/2 of the Drew Macentire Jrcomment), was enough to make me want to at least if I went to a backyard burger again, would be 2 try another location.

The food is o.k..except thesmall fry portion...? + you tend 2 have 2 ask for fresh fries often, so that you don't get warm at best old ones, and you can tell that often they are actually "re-dipped" in the frier so they are "like just out of the frier" , but still not always what one would deem fresh.

The cobbler is often mostly crust unfortunetly.

Maybe the location on University might be a little better? At least it has an inside for you to sit in. But it's run by Sherry as well from what I heard, and that's a little bit of a downer knowing how she generally treat's her staff.

The University location will get a shot here and there, but the Altamonte Springs location is for a quick higher priced burger in a pinch only, and if another is paying for it!!

There is a new Burger joint in lake Mary that's hitting the Orlando area out of Ohio, I've heard about it from business aquaintences of mine, for the pricing and the quality-It's your safest bet.

Sorta good means generally better than McD's.

Need some new opinions. I can't believe how many old reviews are below. Angus burgers used to be distinguishing, but now even McDonalds has a "better burger", which is better than the Backyard standard fare.

Seasoned fries are pretty good, but I'm ready for Five Guys to get down here!!!

Fast food that is actually fast AND food!. Black and blue burger.... near perfection for fast food. Shakes aren't bad either and the seasoned fries rock. If you are craving a burger and need it fast, there isn't a better option. The little tiny teeny weensy thing that could possibly be improved is if they had non-frozen fresh ground beef options so I could get mine rare. Other than that minutely small blip of desire... fast food perfection on a bun.

Great fast food burger. They're the best of the fast food burger options. Flame grilled patty that actually tastes like beef, and fresh lettuce/tomato/onion/etc. You have a choice of seasoned (tastes similar to Arby's curly) or cross-cut (similar to Chick-Fil-A) for fries. The standard size of fries for the combo is on the small side. This location does not have indoor seating.

Perfect. Perfection!! That is what I get when I eat at Back Yard Burgers! You can't make it any better -even at home. Love the atmoshere at Altamonte Springs outside dining and the pretty dining room by UCF.

The best fast food choice. Ah, such a refreshing change from the greasy soy burgers that get served at most fast food chains. The selection is great and the prices are resonable. The quality is that of a sit down restaurant with the value and convenience of fast food.

Thumbs Up - Recommended. This place is a giant step up from any fast food chain. It's equal to the restaurant chains like Fridays, etc - except you don't pay their prices. I find their prices are resonable - you can't expect to get quality meat & pay nothing extra. They have many optional toppings(unlike chains where the choice is cheese or no cheese). So you don't have to have the same burger over & over. I go to the one on OBT around the FL MALL. They have in door seating and serve your food after you placed & payed for your order at the counter. You just get your drinks from the fountain and sit down and wait just a few minutes.

burgerman. Very good Will go back every chance I get.Have to drive 40 miles to get there.
