This Mississippi-born fast-food chain aims to bring the nostalgic flavor of back-yard barbecues to the masses.. The Scene


A box with two car lanes and a window for pedestrians. There's nothing but outdoor seating--seven concrete table-and-bench combos under tilted metal umbrellas.



The Food


Assembled to order off a six-foot grill, or at least hot out of the holding pan. Owner Sherry High says the franchise never pre-cooks or pre-packs; it anticipates demand based on projection charts. Third-of-a-pound burgers have a satisfyingly crunchy edge, and quarter-pound chicken breasts retain plenty of moisture beneath their stripes. Order one of the specialty burgers, such as the Black Jack (with pepper jack cheese and Creole mayonnaise), and seasoned fries. For a leaner alternative, try a skinless, boneless chicken sandwich, blackened or Hawaiian (with a grilled pineapple ring). Jeers on the wimpy buns. And the cobbler: although it's baked fresh daily, Sunday's apple came up mostly crust. Service is faster than an E-Pass.

You've Got To Be Kidding!. It's a flippin fast food joint! Although, better than McDonalds....it's not close to being compared to a real burger. This list should not include fast food places.

Small & expensive. Their burgers are way too small and very, very expensive as well as their french fries.

backyard burntgers. Most of the time they're either burnt or old or poorly assembled. Someone needs to reteach the cooks how to put the burgers together. Ok overall this place is not good at all. They are definitely not like the burgers my father made growing up, and the prices are ridiculous for what you get. I will admit that they're definitely better than places like burger king or mcdonald's which just reek period. But I'm sure in this large vast world there are better burgers out there somewhere, and I don't think they're going to be found in orlando from my experiences. Some other items, such as chicken sandwiches or chili dogs, are slightly above the regular fast food average and are decently priced. But if you want a delicious burger you will have to search around some more. Mark.

back yard trash burgers. sorry to say back yard burgers were horrible the meat was chewy and the waffle fries were ok but for the price and the amount was not good

SUPER-DUPPER!!!!!!. That's the most expressive way I can say it!! SUPPER-DUPPER !!The BEST hamburger I've ever had ANYWHERE!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent for a quick lunch. I used the drive-thru at Backyard Burger and you get a high-quality burger in a quick manner.

Back Yard can back there's up!!!. I've been going to Back Yard Burgers for years & everytime I visit they keep me coming back...particuarlly for the Mushroom swiss burger w/ the waffle fries...it's guaranteed to hit the spot everytime.
