I had been going to this salon for 5 years, as well as my Father, Step Mother & Sister. We all went to the same girl and no one has ever had an issue with her, and rightfully so, as she is expensive. (I won’t mention her name, because I did like her for so long, however I do think that my experience needs to be shared)
I will post a picture of my hair before cut/what I asked for/after cut. (See the photos for the image of before/after.)
I went in on a Thursday, with an appointment scheduled for 6:45. I arrived at 6:20, and waited until 7:25 to be seen. The salon closes at 8.
My appointment was for a toner and haircut. I have blonde hair and wanted to tone the yellow out as well as get my hair cut. When I was finally seen, I showed her ONE picture of the simple long layered cut that I was looking for. She said okay great, then I was told that a toner would not do what I was looking for and that full highlights and low lights would be best (meaning more time and money) I with no hesitation, said fine sure we can do that, as I trusted this girl and whatever she wanted to do with my hair as I had since I moved to Florida.
The girl in the photo looked to have the same texture hair as me, just slightly shorter so the haircut should have been easy. By the time we were finished, it was 9:30 and she didn’t ask me if I wanted my hair blown dry, just started to take off my smock – I didn’t make her dry it because 1. I felt bad that herself and the receptionist were just waiting for me to be finished and could tell she was antsy to leave, as I was the last one in the salon and there an hour and a half past closing time and 2. I trusted her.
I got home; blow dried my hair and actually started to cry. I hated what I saw, as choppy short layered mess. I lost about 6-7 inches from my hair and now had a layer of what looked like short angled bangs around my entire head. My side bangs were previously chin length and exactly how I liked them, I even asked for her not to touch them. Now there is a good 2 inch chunk behind my bangs that is actually now shorter than my bangs.
I called into work the following day, Friday, because I couldn’t even bare to look in the mirror and felt as though my confidence was gone. I spent $130 and absolutely hated what I saw. I called the salon and told them that I was the last client the night before and needed to have my hair blended as it was very choppy and that was NOT the look I was going for. I came in at 1 o’clock and sat down, she brushed out my hair and after seeing it said “so what’s up” like nothing was wrong. She then spent 20 minutes blending out my hair.
I am still so unhappy with it, hence me writing this review. I did call the salon manager, Rachel, the following Monday and am going to be receiving some of my money back, for the haircut, but not the color.
All in all I was blown away that I received such a bad haircut from this salon, but I will not be returning.
Best Salon in all of Seminole County! – We've been going to Salon INXS for about 5 or 6 years. We called one day to to make an up do appointment for my daughters 8th grade dance and we were given to Natalie Adams. She did such an awesome job that we decided to give her a try at also cutting, coloring and styling our hair. We had been faithful clients of "another salon" in the area for years, but after one appointment each with Natalie we were hers! My kids will not go anywhere else to get their hair cuts or styled for dances and special events. 4 homecomings and 2 proms later she's always done a beautiful job for my daughter Haleigh's special days, hopefully she'll do her hair for her wedding one day. Haleigh went on to college at FSU in Tallahassee and still waits to come home for her haircuts because "no one is touching my hair except for Natile"! What can I say she's the best.
We are treated so well there, always greeting with smiles from all of the staff and are always made to feel special. If you are just bouncing all over to different salons stop, try salon INXS and you'll never want to go anywhere else.
Best Hair I've EVER HAD – I tried Salon INXS on a referral and I'm glad I did. After having my hair damaged over and over by careless stylists I was in search of stylist for a long while that would listen to what I want but give me ideas of how to keep my hair fashionable and healthy. I went to Jillian for highlights and a cut and was extremely happy with the results. She gave me back natural looking blond hair and the products to keep my hair strong and soft. She had a wealth of knowledge for bumble and bumble products that I am now hooked on! Everyone one that works there is helpful and friendly. You can tell they have fun and made me feel like I just felt like one of the girls.
Not worth the price tag – It is easy to find parking and the reception staff are welcoming. I was impressed when I had heard that all the hairdressers are or have been trained at Paul Mitchell's school. I was not impressed the first time, so I tried someone else the second time. Both times, I was not impressed with my cut or color. And, what made it worse, is that some of my friends and hubby told me that I looked awful.
I had two appointments, both on weekdays, and was not seen for half an hour. The price is not justified.
WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE – From the moment I went into the salon I was surprised at how the place looked and how I was treated. I got an average hair style and it cost me alot. I will never go back there again.
OVER PRICED AND NOT WORTH IT – FIRST I COULD NOT FIND A PARKING SPACE THEN I HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR FOR MY APPOINTMENT. THE PRICES ARE TOO HIGH IN THIS ECONOMY.
A great find after a long search!!! – I found Salon INXS after a long and exhausting search for a new stylist after moving to the area two years ago. I took several new friends and neighbors up on their offers for reccommendations for salons and hairdressers. After trying a handful of salons and stylists, I finally found Salon INXS and Amy Madsen. Anyone who has searched for a new stylist understands how scary it can be to trust someone new with your hair. From my first appointment, I felt completely at ease. The ladies at the reception desk are very friendly and helpful - it doesn't hurt that they offer me wine upon arrival. Amy quickly calmed any apprehension I felt about entrusting my hair to someone new. I have never made an appointment with another stylist there (why fix what isn't broken!) but the stylists who work near Amy seem to be just as competant and knowledgeable, which is evident by the clients leaving the salon with incredible hair. The only downfall is the parking lot, which is sometimes a bit full (I don't fault the salon for this, it is an issue for whomever owns the complex) so it is best to give yourself a few extra minutes to find a spot.
Best salon in the area for trendy haircuts and awesome service! – Salon INXS has consistently proved to me to be the best salon in the area for the last couple of years. This small but chic salon not only gives amazing haircuts, but the service is awesome! I first went there for my homecoming about 4 years ago and I instantly fell in love with it. I usually see Natalie and have gotten everything done to my hair from highlights to 5 inch trims to deep conditioning treatments. She never fails to make my hair look 10 times better than it did when I first came in and never forgets to offer me something to drink (they serve wine, coffee, and water free of charge) or to read. Their upscale hair products are also a major plus. However, be aware that this salon is VERY popular and walk-ins are rarely accepted. To make an appointment with Natalie, I usually have to call in atleast 2 or 3 days in advance.
lack of customer service – I had an appointment for 3:00pm on a Saturday recently. By 3:30 I was still waiting. I even had time to make a run to the nearest Starbuck's and was told by the hair salon receptionist to take my time there. I returned and my stylist was still not ready.l said I would have to reschedule due to a time conflict. I called back to set up a new appt. for later that afternoon and was told there was no time available for either a cut or color. I was never given a reason as to why there was a delay. I called back and spoke courtesiously to the manager and said I felt this was not appropriate customer service. She proceeded to tell me I was late for my appointment and that I was holding up another customer.??? How could I be when my appointment time was still not ready after 45 minutes. There was nothing she could do to help me out as she very rudely repeated this to me. I was not late but there was another customer that was very late and I am assuming she got our 2 appointments confused. I have never been treated so rudely before in my 51 years. She just kept saying how it was all my fault since I was late ( I was on time) and hadn't called and was holding up another appointment. I am new to the area and this salon had been recommended for customer service and great haircare. My first visit was very nice but this return visit left me confused and totally unsatisfied. There was no reason for the rudeness .
Salon's stylists are not all up to par – I've tried several of the stylists at this salon and my experience varies depending on who you see there. It's very nice inside and they have nice equipment and product lines but there's something missing there and the front desk gals are not always friendly. I've since found a new salon.
