Tips for Palma Maria Restaurant

Excellent italian Restaraunt. They have the absolutel best marinara sauce I have ever had in a restraunt. They don't cut coners on portions either. Great for left overs.

The place is family owned and everyone on staff is extremely friendly.

They offer a family style salad that I think is better than Olive Garden's.

I love the food so much there, I am holding my bridal shower at Palma Maria. Through the planning process they have been very accommedating. I would definitely reccommend going there if you love italian food.

Great Little Italian Restaurant. Palma Maria Italian Restaurant in Casselberry is a great place. It's not spectacular, and it doesn't have bells and whistles, but it is a nice atmosphere and very good food.

I have been 3 times, the latest in New Years week. The strip mall it is in is old and unimpressive looking, but once you get inside the restaurant, it is a different world. No red checkered tablecloths here; only white ones, so while its hardly the most elegant restaurant around, it is hardly the kind of place you would want to walk into with a t-shirt. Business casual works here; a man could wear an Oxford shirt and decent slacks and not feel out of place here.

They give you a fresh baked loaf of bread here to cut and eat. It was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. No garlic or anything like that, but its not necessary. My first time, they gave me an extra loaf to take home.

The pre-entree salad was good, with olives and cut up boiled eggs in it. I was with my wife and parents; my dad commented last time that "This is the kind of salad I like." I had Chicken Parmesan, my parents both had Veal Parmesan, and my wife had an Eggplant dish. We all enjoyed our, and my mom confirmed what she had said before (she had gone with us over 1 year prior), that the marinara sauce was the best she had ever had. Its not a chunky sauce, but it has a very good flavor.

The restaurant was about 40% full that night (a Wednesday night). However, the previous time we had gone (a Tuesday), there had been a funeral supper which had about 20 people. It wasn't sad, but it was the only problem my parents had dining then, and this time, that wasn't a problem.

The family who owns the place has been running it for over 25 years. Our entrees were between $15-20, but they also have an award winning Early Bird menu. Best to make reservations here because of the size, though we have walked in before. Definitely a great escape from chains and pretentious places.
