Editorial Review for Bahama Breeze – by Mary Meehan and Daniel Fuller

The Scene
Bahama Breeze strives to be a festive place and can get a little rowdy, especially into the late hours. The drink menu includes more than 50 beers and a wide variety of fruity umbrella drinks, such as the Very Berry daiquiri. Check out the outside covered deck when dining--or sitting back with a cold one--and enjoy the nightly live entertainment (mainly reggae, naturally). This is especially pleasurable during the summer months, when the humid air adds to the Caribbean atmosphere.

The Food
The house specialty is a moist and tasty "fish in a bag"--strips of mahi mahi in a parchment pillow flavored with carrots, sweet peppers, mushrooms, celery and spices. Also not to be missed is the paella, a rice dish brimming with shrimp, fish, mussels, chicken and chunks of sausage.

The food is homogenized "tropical" food. It's a Darden restaurant chain so, like most Darden restaurants, everything is over cooked and tastes mass produced. I do however like the deck. It's fun on a sunny day to sit on the deck, listen to some steel drum music while having a fruity cocktail. Maybe have an appetizer if you're desperately hungry, but stop there. Of course, you can't order dinner on the deck anyway so you'll have no choice. But trust me...that's a blessing.

Pros: Deck and good fruity cocktails, Music outside

Cons: Food

Very Kid friendly, food was outstanding! I enjoyed the relax eviroment on the deck. The music was not too loud and the service was right on point.

Pros: food

Cons: parking
