Tips for Samba Room

AWFUL SERVICE!!. How is it possible to have a reservation and still have to wait an entire hour for a table?? This place is COMPLETELY unprofessional, the management staff obviously have no idea what they are doing!! This place is fine if you clear your calendar for the entire day and wish to stand in a standing room only bar waiting an hour even though you made reservations! And we werent the only ones, there was a list of people who had made reservations that waited as long as some longer than we did! After an hour we left and vowed never to return! It's great that they have a band, but who cares if you cant eat and have to listen to them from the waiting area?!

Awful. I went here becuase of great revies and was very disappointed. The service was the worst I have experienced anywhere, when we were eventually served we got the wrong food. Our server was obviously very busy, maybe they were short staffed or something, but a very expensive experience.

Samba Room Swings!. Late for our reservation we called to say we would be coming in, they say no problem.

We were seated promptly when we arrived. The food was EXCELLENTE!!! As a chef myself, I was impressed with the Chilean Seabass, and the Satay selection. The ceviche was very good, and my only criticism was that they could have been more generous on the serving. Our waitress was excellent, she was polite, funny, and gave us all the time we needed with out being too "present".

For you Salsa dancers... check out Saturday nites late. We danced til 2:00 a.m. with a great live group playing. Awsome!!!

Excellent service & food. Went there this weekend, great service, competent wait staff, friendly hosts/hostess's, food was fabulous. Our order got messed up and the entree was taken off the bill - no questions asked. Top notch, will go back!

Upbeat and upscale Cuban bar and Latin cafe projects a wallop of energy and a wisp of mystery.. The Scene
Minty rum mojitos, '30s streamlined curves, white-jacketed waiters and filmy curtains evoke the glamour of pre-Castro Havana, while the percussive "foreground music"--an eclectic mix from reggae to samba--drums home the pan-Latin theme. Dining areas include a cigar lounge and two outdoor patios.

The Food
"Latin infused." The dinner menu ranges from appetizers such as plantain chips or mango barbecued ribs to Cuban sandwiches to "large plates" of paella or sugar cane beef tenderloin with chipotle mashed potatoes. Order the grilled mussels to start, which you dip in coconut milk laced with sour orange. Don't let the "wine-habanero" syrup scare you away from the cachaca chicken, a delicious quarter of smoked chicken atop a colorful, fruity coconut rice. Although Cuban bread is somewhat bland, the shredded beef sandwich packs plenty of flavor, more like barbecue than a sloppy Joe. Finish with the divine coconut creme brulee.

Tourist Trap. This place is located in the heart of tourist city (I-Drive area). It caters to them and them alone, with high prices and less than stellar food. In fact, I didn't see a Cuban person, let alone a Hispanic person, in the entire place! Not what I would call authentic.

Trust me - this place is GREAT!. I read the reviews here, talked to friends and business associates that sampled the Samba, then decided to take my wife there for her birthday.

This place is worth the trip! The food and service is excellent. Plus, our party of 6 ordered everything - including bottled water and wine and the bill was just under $200!

Trust me - you want to try the Samba Room for yourself!
