Worst food in the State of Florida!.
Me and my wife decided to try this restaurant just recently. Our advice? STAY THE HELL AWAY!
Everything about this place is absolutely awful! The food is nasty and my wife was violently vomiting within 2 1/2 hours of eating it. The appetizers were ice cold, the salad was hot AND was served with WARM RANCH dressing that obviously was sitting out at room temperature for many hours. The menu is VERY limited, consisting of only a few desperate haphazardly designed dishes that are VERY drastically overpriced. The fish (grouper) was not cooked thoroughly and was still raw and cold in the center....very STRONG tasting, which means it was old and had set out for hours before cooking. And I won't even get into the tasteless batter that fell off of the fish....and was still milky, wet and raw as well and tasted strongly of old raw eggs. The Waiting Staff was totally unattentive and painfully slow. Their so-called "Chef" needs to be fired immediately. It took almost 2 hours just to get the nasty appetizers! I hearby proclaim that I am not a restaurant owner in competition with this sad place. Just an average local food lover. This statement is my sole honest opinion, based on the unacceptable dining experience me and my wife had.
Also, beware of the site GROUPONS which in my opinion, offers pre-paid meal deals and such for failing and struggling businesses. Our meal was bought and pre-paid for through said site. A COMPLETE rip-off!!
Sunday Easter Brunch. Hats Off to the new owner, staff and chefs who are so pleasant and so eager to please! My family and I attended the Easter Brunch in the Conference Center. Our server was wonderful. The plentiful variety of foods kept us going back to the buffet for more. The Chef himself was carving and serving the ham and turkey and happily placing each slice carefully upon our plates until we said "OK". The pastries made by their own pastry chef were scrumptous. The entire wall of windows allowed us the relaxing view of Lake Monroe; which enhanced our dining experience. The Conference Center is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner which we will be frequenting after such a great experience. The prices are more than reasonable for their menu items. Just stopping by for a drink or two and listening to entertainment on Thursdays and/ or Fridays is something we are looking forward to. The Marina Island in the historic part of downtown Sanford is where Lake Monroe Old South, Motel and Restaurant is located. Truly, this is a wonderful area to spend a few hours or even an entire day or evening since there is so much here within walking distance. I guarantee there is something here for everyone. All my thanks to you all at Lake Monroe Old South Motel and Restaurant for a great Easter.
