Hidden find reveals cool music and an engaging atmosphere..
The Scene
Located in a renovated building that dates back to 1886--ancient by Orlando standards--the Pine Street Lounge functions as a concert hall, dance club and chill-out bar. Though situated upstairs from its sister watering hole the Pine Street Bar & Grill, the upstairs club can be hard to find (hint: watch for the ground-level red door). Once inside, the raw, exposed brick walls, stainless steel siding and 20-foot-high ceilings give the impression that the space is much bigger. The stage is at one end of the mid-sized main room with a large rectangular bar at the other.
The Draw
A healthy mix of underground sounds: house, trance, drum and bass, hip-hop, punk, jazz and metal. DJs rule on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights while bands play during the week. Look for smaller national acts to grace the stage as well. Full liquor, draft and bottled beer as well as wine and Red Bull are available at the bar.
Fabulous. One of the best places I've been in Orlando - always a great place to chill out and relax or dance around the clock.
