Editorial Review for Disney's Animal Kingdom – by Eyal Goldshmid
Overview
Disney's Animal Kingdom puts an emphasis on exploration and encourages guests to take their time in learning about the natural worlds re-created here. Walkways wind through lush vegetation and offer spectacular views of various species of animal and plant life. This is Disney's largest park, so be sure to bring a good pair of shoes or sneakers.
The Experience
Expect large crowds, particularly at the main attractions: Kilamanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur and It's Tough to Be a Bug. Those traveling during peak seasons (summer and holidays) should heed this strategy: Start with Dinoland U.S.A. and work your way around the park in a counter-clockwise fashion. This will afford you excellent views of the tigers in Asia (most active in the morning) while avoiding the rush for the Kilamanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoMost visitors can see the entire park in a single day, though nature enthusiasts may want to return for a second. Be sure to check the website for park hours and prices, which vary by season.

I was really surprised with how much fun this park actually was. It's true, there are trees and animals everywhere, especially different types of birds, which is really cool. And with the tropical Florida weather, you can almost envision yourself in some type of jungle. There aren't many big rides, but they are very fun. Even more fun than the main attraction that they have there, the safari. It's really interesting, but it's kind of difficult to see the animals since they were sleeping when I went on. My favorite ride was the "Dinosaur" ride. I honestly thought it was just going to be a slow car ride going through a museum, but it was terrifying (to me, at least) and very fast-paced. I was definitely surprised. If you're thinking of missing this park during your stay at Disneyworld, change your mind! It really is entertaining.
Pros: Educating and Fun
Cons: early close and expensive, of course

Where else can you get animals, rides, shows, good food and the Disney charm?! Although Animal Kingdom does not have AS many attractions as the other WDW parks, it is the newest so that is to be expected. The Imagineers should be commended on this park. It is probably the most visually creative of them all. Everything has so much detail to it, from the walkways that look like mud with leaves embedded in it, to the authentic African buildings that house the eateries and restrooms, etc. That attention to detail is what sets Disney so far ahead of the rest. The safari is great and it is nice how you can not see how the animals are kept in their respective areas. The Kali River Rapids is so much fun we usually ride it atleast 5 times. Wear a poncho if you do not want to be soaked because you will get VERY wet!! I rate this a must see while at Disney.
Pros: Rides, shows, overall design
Cons: Not as many rides yet, but understandable
