Editorial Review for Ocala National Forest – by Tom Levine
In Short
This bombing-range bonanza is one of the designated Central Florida sites where nature is allowed to go largely untouched. It's a great place for snorkeling, fishing, hiking, star-gazing, alligator tickling and lightning bug watching. Follow the Silver Glen Spring Trail for a scenic hike. Most camping is free, although there are designated fee areas. Tenting is most enjoyable fall through spring.

The Ocala National Forest may not be a part of Orlando, it is not far from it. I have spent a great deal of time there just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a great place to go if you want to go to springs, there you will find Salt Springs State Park and various other springs on the side of the roads down there. This place has such great bueaty that you can't help to feel the great peace it brings when you are there!
Pros: Inexpensive, Lots of space, Quiet tranquilty
