Cheesburger in paradise is truly paradise. Sitting outside by the plane is nice.
Bizarre Experience, Excellent Food. My wife and I were vacationing from Maine and visiting Florida friends. After a full week of parks, we finished our stay with a meal at Margaritaville. We called ahead in the morning for priority seating, actually before they opened. Surprisingly, they answered the phone. (IMPRESSED) We realized in the afternoon, we would be 20 min. later than expected. We called to let them know , only to find they didn't have our name on the list.(NOT IMPRESSED) Arrived and were seated immediately.(IMPRESSED)The waitress came to take beverage order. She was speaking lower than a whisper, as she was losing her voice. She returned with bev. and took meal order. By this time, she couldn't speak at all. She went home and another waitress took her place, (FELT SORRY),sweet girl. No, its not over yet. While waiting for our meal, my wife and I left the table to take a picture, as this was our first visit to Margaritaville, my first to Florida. I had left my sweatshirt on the back of my chair. I returned to find another waitress inspecting my shirt. While serving an adjacent table, a small stainless steel container of sauce fell off the serving tray and landed perfectly upright. This caused the sauce to fly straight up and out with erupting force. The shirt blocked most, but it went so high, some showered down on the table and on our friend on the opposite side of the table! (NOT IMPRESSED) They cleaned my shirt as best they could and the manager apologized and offered a new sweatshirt from the gift shop so I wouldn't have to walk around CityWalk with a soiled shirt that evening! (VERY IMPRESSED) I didn't ask for nor expect anything, but their offer, to say the least, caught me off guard. Oh, did I mention the knife that flew off a passing wait tray and I jumped out of the way? Well, after all that, strange as it seems, I considered it a great experience. When was the last time this many things happened to you at one meal? It was an exciting time. Of course, it helps that all four meals were GREAT! and the sweatshirt compensation, considering mine was ruined. Yes, it is now a "work around the house" shirt. I cannot wait to return to Florida. Margaritaville will be on the "To Do" list.
Worth a Trip. FIRST OF ALL, it's not just a restaurant in Orlando. It's literally a paid right of passage to get in. . .you have to enter the entire Universal/City Walk park to get access ($15 fee - even more pissed-it said, $12 on Margarittaville's website, but I didn't complain over 3 bucks). Then it takes like 15 minutes of walking from the parking garage, up the elevator, up the escalator, passing through security, more traveling to see all the advertisements and little side carts with toys, etc, and THEN you enter the park. Then you have to walk a bit..THEN you might have a chance of not waiting 30 minutes like we did for a table..when you get there don't let them take pictures of you with the parrot (it's real, tried to pick at my eye...very weird) because they will approach you later with the developed photo & charge a fee to get it. The "Big Rita" was pitiful..$17 and you get a cup that's not even slightly impressive. Looked like a glass beer bottle (OH! but you get to keep the cup! yay..) There were huge tv's everywhere playing over and over again...big surprise Jimmy Buffet music. MAYBE another artists at random...& briefly about the Positives: the crab soup was DELICIOUS, the food was pretty good, & our "queen" male waiter was terrific. If your planning on a day hanging out at City Walk, I'm all for you checking it out but if you are just passing through the area and are pressed for time, DON'T DO IT. It's a trap I tell you!
don't eat the nachos!!. I was in a big dinner party and everyone that ate the nachos got sick
The best place to eat at while at City Walk !. This is a really fun place to dine at. The food and drinks are very good but are on the pricy side. The music is tops and it has a really fun atmosphere. The menu is somewhat limited but everyone should be able to find something they like. The nachos and the burgers are a definite must. This place gets very crowded when the park closes but if you get there about 30min before then you will be fine. Also, they have a cover charge after 9pm.
Great Place. A great place to hang out with your friends. Nice ambient, music and food. A little pricey but stills a nice place
Fun atmosphere, Not entirely appropriate for children on weekend nights. Margaritaville is a great place to eat, drink and hang out with pals! I would recommend going with a group to get the most out of the fun atmosphere.
An introduction to the other side of Florida, where tropical delicacies (and designs) abound and cocktails are super-sized..
The Scene
A string of colored lights lining the beach deck illuminates the way, but it's the music that turns all of Margaritaville's patrons into Parrot Heads. Inside, a sail-shaped screen hoisted among the fishing reels and beach highway signs showcases the best of Buffett's videos. The live Caribbean-flavored band will make you want to kick off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes.
The Food
The menu is glutted with delectable seafood specialties. Notable starters include conch fritters served with Cajun remoulade and the restaurant's signature crab, shrimp and mushroom dip. Seafood entrees range from crab cakes to shrimp pasta. Beef lovers will enjoy the sirloin steak served with mashed potatoes. If you have the kids in tow, order the cheeseburger or PB&J. The only suitable dessert to end a meal here is the Key lime pie.
Key West in Orlando!. Service is great value is good especially if you purchase Dinner and a movie for $19.99 tax and tip included! People are usually friendly and service usuaaly good. We dine here 3-4 times a year.
