Who runs this place. Stopped in to make a reservation and were told they "don't take reservations." Came back later and were ushered into the "bar" area for dinner. Seafood pasta dish was all pasta, no seafood, other meals mediocre, bread pudding was liked by one member of our party, not by another so took leftover home for next day and when first person attempted to eat, dumped it immediately stating nothing like theirs had been. Upon leaving asked how determination is made as to whether guests are seated in dining room versus bar, were told "guests with reservations are seated in dining room" WHAT? We were told you didn't take reservations....menu is same in bar as in white linen tabled dining room....VERY unhappy and won't return!
Great Food - Terrible waiter. Go for the food, it is great, but don't expect great service after you reach your table. We went at 2:00 pm on a rainy non-busy day. Waited 15 minutes just to see our waiter. My husband ordered a salad to be served before his entree. About 15 minutes later it came and then before he could get halfway through the salad his main course came. We asked for more water, which never came, asked for more butter, which never came. Waiter was mostly non-responsive to our requests. We are not demanding, picky people. We will go back to try other things on the menu, but might take a bottle of water along.
Nice location, very good food and service. Columbia is a nice change from the I-Drive tourist traps. Great waterfront location in Celebration, with a large covered patio. The sangria is mixed tableside and is fantastic. Service was quick and professional (although it was a rainy Monday night, so the restaurant wasn't very busy). There's a lot to choose from on the menu, so there should be something everyone will like. The paella was a bit salty but otherwise delicious and the portions generous. Will definitely return with my group on next business trip to Orlando.
Not Recommended. I would not recommend this restaurant. My husband and I did not have a good experience here. We love the one in Tampa. We ordered the Pompano and it arrived uncooked. which was not noticed by our server. I then ordered a steak dish, and recieved the wrong dish. With so many restaurants to choose from, we will not go back to this one.
Unprofessional Service. While the food is excellent, the service leaves something to be desired. When we ordered a bottle of wine with dinner we told the server we would like it with dinner (we had a before dinner drink). As our tapas were served we were told the wine would be served shortly and asked if we would like some water. We finished both tapas and still no wine...nor the water we were promised (at least 15 minutes later)! When we called the server over she was very curt to us and said "I'm trying to get to everything" and motioned to other tables she was trying to serve. Then our main course was served. Still, no wine. When the manager finally brought the bottle over, we told him that since we hadn't been able to enjoy it with our dinner (which begins with the tapas) we would not want to finish the bottle (there were only 2 of us) and would just like a glass. We told him what had happened and he was very apologetic. However, never did we receive an apology from the server. When the check arrived, the manager informed us that he only charged us for two glasses, even though the wine we ordered was generally not served by the glass. We told him that was fine. When we reviewed the bill we saw he charged us $35 for two glasses of wine...the bottle at regular retail is about $25 dollars. So he essentially covered his cost of goods and then some. It wasn't about the money so all we could do was laugh. I am in Orlando often and entertain clients and thought this might be a good place as an alternative to the regular steakhouse-type chains. However, the service is not professional enough. The poor service experience outshined the excellent food. I told the concierge at the hotel we were staying at not to recommend it any longer, particulary for business patrons.
Locals flock to this well-known Spanish eatery to enjoy treasured family recipes, again and again..
In Short
The Old-World charm and excellent Spanish-Cuban cuisine have been pleasing patrons since 1904. Accented with historic memorabilia and sleek dark wood, the tapas bar is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Opt for an outdoor table in the charming courtyard during warmer months. Standout dishes include entrees like paella a la Valencia and the baked red snapper casserole with sweet onions, green peppers, gravy and fresh garlic. For dessert, try the rich, creamy flan.
TRULY WORLD CLASS DINING. WORLD CLASS DINING ... Very few spanish cusine restaurants with such charm and class. Visit for a very enjoyable experience.
