Nada Surf Editorial Review
In Short
Nothing about Nada Surf's 1996 hit "Popular" suggested that the New York City trio would survive modern-rock one-hit-wonderdom any more successfully than Dishwalla or Better Than Ezra. But the band's emergence on the indie rock scene is a triumph of perseverance. Fans of well-crafted guitar pop have taken a shine to the band, and their 2005 release, "The Weight is a Gift," ranks among their finest.
